Reality is Arkansas did not have many choices. They were not going to get a prominent currently winning coach from a power five school. They just had a quick trigger on a good coach from the next tier.
They had to go with a coordinator or other SEC assistant

Actually, former Arkansas players and boosters wrote a letter lobbying for Pittman. I loved Pittman when he was at UGA, and he was a great OL coach and recruiter, but time will tell if this experiment, and it is an experiment, works out.

No one could possibly know how he will do, including Pittman. This is the first time his entire life he’s been “the guy”. He will need to let go of things he’s always controlled and control things he never thought about. It’s not an easy transition in any career field, more so in such a high profile media spotlighted one.

Firstly, though I agree with you on Trump, frick you for bringing politics into this.
Secondly, everything they said about Luke centered on emotions and optics. There's been some of that with Pittman too, but there's been a lot of chatter about his results thus far, as well.

Arky will have to be patient and give this guy at least 5 years to be a winning program. There’s zero talent on the sidelines and it’s going to take a while to be able to compete in the hardest conference in college football.

The bottom line is that NOBODY knows who will be a successful coach and who won't be. It's basically a crap shoot. And until that data on any coach is in, all you have is really shitty narratives that may or may not prove to be correct.
That said, the fact that so many people pull against good and accomplished people like Pittman is kind of sad.
