Jayden Daniels would have won a National Championship if he would have had a half way decent Defense

If Omar Conner could have played for Mullen….

Jayden Daniels with just a top 50 defense would have cake walked to a NC
You put him into a Les Miles LSU team, he probably goes back-to-back national titles. He's the unicorn Les always looked for, but could never land.

Regardless of how many possessions, no one can stop his offense.
Better defense EASILY wins this team a Playoff bid

Not SEC or my team, but Joe Hamilton at Georgia Tech was a dude. He would push Florida St to the limit.

Brodie just got thrown to the wolves
Brodie, even though a legacy, was a huge recruiting get during one of the lowest points in Bama history. FSU and Oklahoma offered and were certainly more attractive at the time. The day he committed was the only day I've ever called into sports talk radio lol.
But, of course, he wasn't surrounded with elite talent. Did have a 10 win season and made the cover of Sports Illustrated...guess that's something.
Then he unfortunately goes to the Chiefs when they were brutally awful. Still the worst NFL OL I've ever seen...it was a bloodbath when he was under center.

Cole Barthel
would have been fine on the team he was on if Houston would have ever benched Robert Johnson and let him play.
Transferred down to D2 and set some national records at the time.
Houston had a bad habit of playing "his boys" regardless of who else he had.

Brodie Croyle had a beautiful football but he airmailed too many deep passes.

For me it was Stephen McGee.
He was a passing phenom in high school, setting all sorts of records.
Coach Fran in his infinite wisdom decided to convert him to an option QB.
Mike Sherman then fell in love with the shiny toy that was Jerrod Johnson and marginalized McGee through that terrible 2008 season.
Cowboys still drafted him the fourth round.

Jeremiah Masoli. Robert Lane.
Masoli is the answer for Ole Miss. I feel like Robert Lane was wasted more because the coach (Cutcliffe) refused to adopt an offense that suited him more than the talent around him. Brent Schaeffer would have been much better if Dan Werner didn't convince O that he was a NFL drop back passer.

Brodie would have gone down as the best to ever play at Bama if he had been on Saban teams.
If that's true, he should have had an NFL career to rival the other all-time Bama QBs. The best indicator a QB had great talent but lacked surrounding talent would be that he was better in the NFL than in college, or was at least drafted ahead of his college production. Of course, other factors such as being a late bloomer could contribute to that
Brodie was a 3rd rounder, and this is a summary of his NFL career:
quote:
Croyle is the only quarterback in Chiefs franchise history to start at least three games as a quarterback and not win a single game.[7] He is also one of the 4 quarterbacks since 1960 (when starts first were tracked) to start at least 10 games in their career and not win a single game.[8] He has the fewest passing yards[9] and touchdowns[10] in franchise history among quarterbacks with 10 or more starts. In 2015 he was named by FanSided as the 2nd worst quarterback in Chiefs franchise history.
The fact that he set records at Bama tells me the surrounding talent may have been better than he was.

That Chiefs team was absolutely awful...especially on the OL. They made the Browns look like Super Bowl contenders back then. Brodie was absolutely murdered...I've never seen a NFL OL that bad.

The one that pops out for me is Sam Ehlinger.
