3 + 6 format

with the permanents as follows

Auburn’s schedule is brutal, but it sounds like they may be ok with it.. who is unhappy with this structure and scheduling?

It is absurdly unfair to give Auburn those three perms. I am no AU fan, but that would stink bigtime, IMO.

Agreed, but it sounds like they may want it. So you are ok with losing the LSU vs Auburn game?

So you’re going to copy that mizzou fan’s perfect bracket? Screw that.

if it’s the same as anyone else’s, it wasn’t meant to copy anyone.. just a coincidence

I have posted other reiterations.. you can make your own using the same logic.

1st column is pretty much set.
2nd column pick a team from the same side.
3rd column pick a team from the other side.

Based on just a few assumptions..
ie Alabama wants TN and MS
ie Georiga wants Aub & SC
ie Texas wants A&M & Ark

you are only left with a few choices to make

While I appreciate you making the effort, it is clear you have no idea on SEC history

I actually tried to incorporate anything and everything that I have heard discussed. What’s the top game that I didn’t include on the permanent’s?

LSU vs Florida? Seems that is one of those games that is debated. Some want Ole Miss & Auburn, Some want Florida and Ole Miss.

Unfortunately, I think LSU is stuck with A&M.

Makes no difference to me.

Give me OU and fill in the blank for the last 2. I’m bored and trying to come up with a solution that works for everyone.

Applehole.

You saw all those trees and missed that pesky forrest

It is more than just games. It is history and travel that made the SEC. From the age of trains to the age of planes some stuff changes but some roots are deep and not above the surface for outsiders to see.

In addition to the in conference schools you have to understand the former schools and the partner schools in the ACC.

It is what causes friction to most of the teams currently in the West (less Auburn) and the East with the 8 or 9 game format. It also encompasses not just football but all sports. If Alabama gets a tiddlywinks team, Tennessee will have one in a week. Proximity and conflict breeds the best fans. Vols may beat the Cats in CFB but the favor is returned in MCBB. With just a few hours separation you can develop a whole lot of hate in a century or more.

This is the part consultants and outsiders just don't get

The slogan is hokey but "It just means more" fits.

It'll be ridiculous if we get anyone other than Vandy to go with ALA/UGA but that's absolutely going to happen. Probably FLA or LSU.

Ok fair enough. I don’t get it. So what is the solution?

The original 10 teams play a 9 game round robin?

The 6 new teams play 9 games against each other?

Everyone is happy then?

It really doesn't make that much of a difference. Even if LSU isn't permanent they would still have a schedule with UGA, Bama, and LSU and every other year.

People are making too big of a deal about the difficulty of the 3 permanents, the real difficulty is going to be in how your 6 rotating opponents are set up. An imbalance there could really screw a team over every other year.

or really help you every other year.. and it may be done that way intentionally

Um, no. We don't want that. We don't have a huge history with LSU. We rarely played them before 1992!
