You forget the arse beating they put on UGA, Okl., and other big name programs

They beat those teams In two different years with a month to prepare against a team that didn’t really care to be there twice. What would they have done playing AU, LSU, Ole Miss, and Bama in consecutive weeks in the middle of the season. This isn’t rocket science my man.

I don't think Florida will ever recruit at an elite level again. Maybe on an irregular off year, but I think we are going to stay somewhere around 20-30 ranking in recruiting.

By the way I was looking for the non-recruiting board if anyone has seen it.

It's one thing to state that we need to recruit better. It's another to say and I quote your earlier post,
"Of course he said that, however if you look at the evidence, the majority of the guys we’ve had visit and on our board are blue chips. He just keeps missing them, rather than admit the truth, that he sucks at recruiting he would rather just act like they don’t matter. This should surprise nobody, because Mullen is full of shite with just about everything that comes out of his arrogant mouth."
I would expect that from a UG, Tenn fan just not from someone who claims to be a Gator.

Gatorade has fallen out of favor. H20 and Powerade are taking over.

Mullen won't last long at Florida. Tennessee will pass them and they along with Georgia will run the east.

So you’re saying since I’m a Gator fan, I can’t express my true feelings on our head coach. I have to repress them and only say positive things even when the truth is slapping me in the face, that’s the only way to be a true fan. Got it, thanks for setting me straight.

*Raises hand*

As a Vandy fan would you like to hear from me about whether stars matter?

In this system we are in now, the big name programs get in whether they deserve it or not. I thought it would fix the "beauty contest" that the polls were. The truth is, it's a bigger "beauty contest" now just with fewer judges.

I saw this coming.

It'll just be a beauty contest of the name teams until they make it an 8-game tournament of champions where just conference champions advance to the playoffs.

Mullen has talked multiple times about the need to bring in top classes to compete for championships. When he talks about the offenses he used to run at UF, he mentions that the success was a reflection of the talent in the program.

I don't think anyone is happy with where this years class currently ranks. That said, I do think it is too early to be in panic mode. This class will likely finish on a strong note and he seems to be hitting the right notes in 2020.

That is not the point. I stated that is doesn't take "class rankings" to have a successful football program. Boise State is the biggest example, but it's not the only one. There are maybe 15-20 power5 schools that have a legit shot at winning their Conf. in any given year. Recruiting is part of it but coaching is just as big a part.

His recruiting classes always looked good 2 years down the road in Starkville. Then we would all sit back and watch them dwindle as player after player was picked off. Great players want to play NOW. They don’t want to sit behind in depth awaiting their turn. Mullen is faithful to the upperclassmen because they bow to his arrogance.

How about Washington? Been to the playoffs, a contender this year....5 year recruiting class average around 25.

Peterson is just a darn good coach. You can’t spin it any other way. Chip Kelly was the same way at Oregon. Granted, they are the exception, not the rule - but it can be done.

It's the Chip Kelly approach. Only problem is, Dan's system is sub-par to Chip's.

I remember telling myself this every offseason. Spoiler alert: he won’t.

Dan, he means "you" in general, not you specifically, so don't get the idea that you can recruit. You can't.

It’ll be harder for UF to recruit in state, no matter who the HC is because UCF, USF, and FAU are much more serious about football than they were 20 years ago. Spurrier was a lazy recruiter while at UF but was able to get stars without much effort due to his name and offensive style.

Mullen is certainly no Spurrier. And the fans are gonna have less patience than they’ve had in the past.
