Some of this has to do with the teams they have played, not the actual team itself.

Oklahoma is the only surprising team in there.

OU had that Michigan game that probably boosted their viewership...

And I think the Auburn game was early enough in the SEC season that it brought in viewers that it wouldn't bring in if it were played now.

The game in Dallas always gets pretty high ratings.

Holy cow, first six teams are SEC

I'm honestly surprised A&M isn't on the list. Particularly given they played ND. Probably start picking up more viewers now that in top 5.

All this tells us is that Greg Sankey got absolutely dog-walked on the conference TV deals. The B1G gets roughly $200 million more annually on their deal. $1 billion vs $811 million.

Hopefully when they go to 9 conference games that'll open the window to rework the deal since ABC/ESPN will get more inventory.

And on the other side of the coin CBS, FOX and NBC overpaid for the Big Ten and this data will absolutely be used against the Big Ten when their deal is up in 5 years.
CBS may bow out and will wait on the SEC.

LOL @ OSU all the way down to number 7. SEC is still king even when LSU sucks.

Embarrassing look for those teams that can't pull more viewers than the entire population of the state in which they are located.

This is a function of the SEC having a ton of ranked vs ranked games that are compelling.

The big 10 has like 3 programs worth a damn so they have about a grand total of 5 good games a year. The SEC can do that in 2 weeks.

Not me, it's largely a function of preseason rankings that have proven once again to be BS.

Make fun of them all you want. They won the last two championships. Beat em in the playoff.

LSU with nearly as many viewers & an even smaller population than OK.

Both are national brands.

Uh, surely you don’t expect UT or A&M to draw >30 million viewers, ‘cause that’s the population here in Tejas.

Ah. Fair enough. Definitely RRS is huge. (As is just Michigan generally).

Be curious what the average is. Like. What’s the Oklahoma viewership against some vanilla team.
