In honor of South Carolina blowing a 10 point lead in the final minutes vs a mediocre Flordia team, what’s the most pathetic choke you’ve seen your team do in recent memory?

Not recent, but Muschamp vs Spurrier 2014 comes to mind. Spurrier said he even felt bad for him after the game.

This last Saturday is probably a good example. Got spooked by a fake punt.

Not my team but ... the Buff's choke to Stanford, especially with Deion at the helm, brought a smile to my face the other night.

Choke at Doak. We were up 31-3 vs FSU in 94. Was a little kid but remember it well. We burned a FSU flag at half lol. Oof.

Not just up 31-3 but up 31-3 at the start of the 4th quarter.

There have been plenty of games we've had a lead and lost but MOST of those aren't really considered a choke I don't think. I guess the first one that comes to mind woudl be the 2011 outback bowl against kirk cousins and MSU in which we were up 16-0 at half then lost in 3OT.

ETA:

2014 against tech we were up by 3 with 18 seconds left and kicking off and we did the dreaded dumbfrick squib kick. They would tie it and we'd lose in OT

2016 UT which we all rememeber. Goa head TD with a few seconds left and dumbass rico mcgraw got a 15 yard penalthy for removing his helmet. Woudl lose on hail mary

Auburn- MSU 2021. Up 28-3, only for Mike Leach to score 40 unanswered. Broke the program- haven't been the same since.

I sensed a choke the very second that South Carolina failed to convert the extra point.

That gave Florida hope of getting a field goal for a tie.

Then there were the 9 yard gains when Florida seemed to be dead in the water.

The bottom line is that the Gamecocks may come up short for bowl eligibility because of this debacle.

Easy for a Georgia fan, and it is a tie.

The Prayer at Jordan Hare and 2nd and 26.

The Prayer- rush 2 like an idiot and dbs try to catch the ball instead of batting it down.

2nd and 26 - how in the hell do you have someone that wide open when you are playing prevent?

1994 LSU/Auburn - Curley Hallman genius game

Auburn enters the game on a 14 game winning streak and is highly ranked.

LSU was up 23-9 with just over 12 minutes left.

Jamie Howard throws a pick 6.

LSU still up 23-16.

Let's keep passing. Barely a minute after the first pick 6, Jamie Howard throws into triple coverage for a second pick 6.

Game tied 23-23.

LSU drives and kicks a go-ahead field goal.

LSU up 26-23.

LSU holds Auburn to a 3 and out and gets the ball back with 3+ minutes left. Nothing to do but run clock and punt if necessary to an offense our defense has held in check all day.

Not Curley. On 3rd and 4, he decides to let his already rattled and snake-bitten QB throw again. Of course, Howard again decides to throw into triple coverage, and of course it was another pick 6.

As amazing as it sounds, with only 44 seconds left, Howard still had time to throw 2 more interceptions because the first interceptor fumbled back to LSU during his return.

Beat that shite.

we were down by a ton in the 3rd quarter and stormed back on a herculean effort. i don't really consider that a choke considering that it was a near miracle we were even in that postiion to begin with.

we were playing the #1 ranekd team and never led by more than 13 at any point and took the game to overtime, again I don't see how that's a "choke". And we weren't playing prevent defense on that play..

They were one play chokes. I agree they were not chokes of an entire game.
