Can't really go too far from Burrow, Cam, or Tebow.

Not sure what you mean by "influential".

Some thoughts:

Christian McCaffery/Leonard Fournette. Sitting out a bowl game for NFL draft position started a trend. Those two were the ones who started that happening.

I'd put Justin Fields here too but I'm not sure he was the first QB to transfer to start immediately without being a grad transfer or not. He's the first I remember, but that might be because he transferred out of UGA. Before when you sat out a year it didn't feel as much of a playing time decision, but Fields was the first time I recall it being all about wanting to start right away and being able to do so by transferring. UGA had Eason transfer away the year before but he had to sit out a year. It was more about being closer to home.

Now QB's transferring to play sooner is pretty much expected. Not that long ago that wasn't the case.

Most impact on the game? Made kids wanna be like them?

Brandon Avalos comes to mind

What exactly did these three influence?

Not trying to trash talk or incite, but Cam Newton started 14 games in his college career. Hard to be the most influential player, whatever influential means here, when fans watch you for one season and then you're in the NFL.

And nobody in the SEC knew who knew Burrow was until his junior season and nobody outside of Ohio State and the SEC knew who he was until his senior season.

Tim Tebow ripped off lines from Varsity Blues in his “famous” locker room speech.

He is disqualified from any distinction but a thief.

The question wasn’t “when was the last time Tennessee was relevant?”…

Nick Saban was a college football player.

He is the most influential person in college football the last 30 years.

I give it to Nick on a technicality.

How relevant were they last October when they ran you out of your own stadium?

Influence what though? Influence CFB? NFL? Very different answers depending on what that is. I'd say Tebow if it's confined to CFB.

Burrow doesn’t influence anyone other than some teammates. He’s a little too strange to be “influential”.

It was a little over 30 years ago but Eric Zeier's early enrollment at UGA in the Spring of '91 seems influential. Don't think he was the first but he was the most notable at the time and we've certainly seen the practice flourish.
