In state rivalries are always more bitter than cross state rivalries. Always. Especially when both teams are competent

This 100%.

1 Ole Miss/Mississippi St
2 Auburn/Alabama
3 Carolina/Clem
4 Florida/FSU

those 4 are the most toxic in everyday life and within split families as well as players on the field.

Missouri/Kansas (even though it is not played yearly any longer) is probably the most bitter between schools in different states. OU/Texas & OhioS/Michigan not too far behind.

Not sure about most bitter, but probably the most unique setting in College Football.

Played in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas since 1932,

UT, 198 miles to Cotton Bowl
OU, 191 miles to Cotton Bowl

(Yes, Dallas is closer to Norman than Austin.}

The rivalry in sports in the Iron Bowl. Once a year, extremely heated, split families, co workers, same state same division. If you haven't been, you gotta go.
having been to the Egg Bowl I'd put that as 2nd. The same intensity as the Iron Bowl on a smaller scale but hatred runs deep in that one.

Egg Bowl has had some salty moments.

1. Egg Bowl
2. Florida-FSU
3. UK vs Louisville (L’s Down)

Made the drive from Dallas to OKC last summer.

Was surprised at how close Dallas is to OKC, and Norman being about half an hour or so south of OKC, to OU.

All the cigars that Alabama fans and players have smoked in the past 15 years have numbed their taste buds to the point that they automatically lose their ability taste bitterness during the 3rd week of October. It's some sort of Pavlovian reaction from beating Tennessee so often for so long.

LSU pretty bitter on FSU. Quit playing years ago, and will not come to Tallahassee.

Big Game Boomer is click bait trash.

List is terrible. I have no clue where that account comes up with its stuff.

Mich-MSU is one sided. Most Michigan fans don't care about Sparty at all, and some even root for them when they're aren't playing each other.

Bitter is not the word I use to discuss sports rivalries. Bitter leaves a bad taste in your mouth like a bad beer.

Texas-OU is intense; Your hair stands up like a rabid dog. You have your fists clenched watching a football game.

"I won't kill him. I'll just hurt him real bad."

How is Alabama/Auburn only number eight? If there is one thing I've learned in my travels to Alabama those teams simply HATE each other

Don't you read these boards?

Georgia broke them.
Auburn pulls for Bama when the Gumps are playing the Dawgs.
I've even seen the reverse.

It is the craziest thing I have ever seen.
