Austin is probably the smartest QB in the conference, has elite arm talent, just needs to clean up under pressure. He's going to be a great addition to your team. You may also need him on your baseball team.

I'm going to miss him in the Red & Blue.

In other news, we are fooked if Chambliss doesn't get his waiver approved.

Always thought Simmons could be the best of them all. Still could be. Will have a smile watching him excel at Mizz. Great leader and intangibles in addition to the arm talent

Austin returns OM vs Miz 10/17/2026 - should get a warm reception in Oxford.

No ill will towards Austin for leaving. He stayed in Oxford for multiple years as the backup, it's time for him to spread his wings and take a chance somewhere else. Best of luck to the young man, he's handled all adversity he's faced with the highest level of class

If we can get the same ROI that y'all got with Lacy, then I'll consider it a good trade.

Handled it the right way. Hope he wins every game of his career outside of Ole Miss.

Lane was the head coach of both and couldn’t get either Ole Miss qb in the portal. Yikes

We'll see how he pans out but I've never seen a QB with better pure arm talent than Simmons. Mizzou's next big investment needs to be the OL because Simmons did not handle pressure well in his limited opportunities this year. There isn't a throw he can't make though. The ceiling is extremely high. Definitely cheering for him.

I feel like a lot of Simmons flaws were just experience-related - makes sense his entire career arc is a robotic QB made in a factory due to his upbringing with his helicopter dad.

Kid just needs reps and will in time be a beast. Hopefully Mizzou willing to be patient.

Appreciate the good wishes from you all for him. It's good to see. Not every player gets the fans behind him like that.
I have read the kid is a bona fide genius. Hope that translates to football IQ next season.

He's a legitimately good person, great athlete, and has elite arm talent. He is a genius. At 19 he already had his bachelor's degree.

Glad to hear all the positive comments about this young man.

We have a new OC, a strong returning running game, and at least 2 proven receivers, so I am cautiously optimistic about the offense.

However, I AM a Mizzou fan, so the steel-lined cup is firmly in place.

Odd, you would think an elite quarterback would go somewhere he may actually win something. Not going to happen at mizzOU
