Now Arkansas needs to claim 77.

And it's 100% their fault. They were #1 in both the AP and Coaches on the final week of the regular season and got their arse beat at home by Kansas.

This was when the championship was awarded before the bowl games. Missouri then went and blasted Navy in its bowl. Champion Minnesota lost their bowl. 3 years later, largely due to this controversy, the award was changed to include Bowl Results. Had the award taken place post bowls it's likely Missouri would have been given the Championship.

So Minnesota was #2 going into the final week? I believe that was the year Ole Miss beat and do over with LSU 21-0 in Sugar Bowl but back then NCs were picked before the bowls. Ole Miss gave up 14 points the whole year. Minnesota lost 1 regular plus their bowl.

I'm thinking Missouri should table the motion.

This is usually my go-to source:

Tip Top 25

By this analysis, Missouri barely re-rates into the #4 spot.

But on the bright side, they edge out Ole Miss, who re-rates to #5

Please do. It will make Auburn's move of claiming past titles *slightly* less embarrassing.

Little story about that kansas game and the week leading up to it. Devine was wound tight as a drum that week and had them practice more(and with more intensity)than they had all season.

In addition to that, a flu bug went through the locker room that week. Several Mizzou players, including my dad, had to get an IV at halftime, but to a man NONE of them wanted to claim shite because of that loss.

They lost. They knew they were beaten that day by a good team with some damn good players, including John Hadl (who is pictured in my avatar) getting tackled by my personal hero.

We didn't win it. Wish we had, because I'd have a pretty sweet ring.
