Again, without Missouri the league is still three handoffs and a punt. I believe the word is transformative.

I believe you just got a history lesson on how this isn't even closer to true.

Urban Meyer actually won 2 NC’s running the spread.

Missouri is irrelevant.

Nobody ran it like Missouri. Nobody had trouble with it like they did with Missouri. Again, you are welcome

Florida won 6 SEC Championships running that offense in the 90’s, so yes, somebody beat you to it, AND ran it much better than you.

I wish this was true. Spurrier fricked us for a decade with a variant of the spread

His offense was more pro style. Then again the guy just loves scheming up some shite and calling his plays. Whatever advantage he felt he had, he was going to exploit it in the best ways possible.

Wrong. Spurrier brought the spread in 1990.

Urban Meyer brought it to the SEC long before anyone at the league office ever considered inviting Missouri.

Didn’t the Pirate come from Kentucky to OU and installed his version of it then take it to tech?

Now tell 'em who Mizzou, and the rest of the BIG XII, copied their spread offenses from.

Easy. The Pirate.

Correct. Refined it under Mumme at Kentucky.

What a total lack of awareness of league history. Florida and Kentucky deserve all the credit you're trying to take.

Joe Gibbs' Skins teams popularized the single-back "spread" offense in the early 80s featuring John Riggins as the bellcow back on their way to a Super Bowl win.

Don Coryell (with Gibbs as OC) introduced the single-back in 80 featuring Chuck Muncie as the back and DanFouts slinging to Kellen Winslow and Charlie Joiner.

Spurrier running it at Florida in the 90s?

Mumme and Leach running it at Kentucky in the 90s?

Urban Meyer winning 2 NCs with it in the 2000s?

Missouri claming that Georgia played "old man football" when they came into the league, only to be destroyed by them in Missouri?

Pinkel making it to 2 SCECG only to be destroyed twice, in back to back years, by offense they "brought to the league?"

Asking for a friend.

Yeah, the spread. The only spread Missouri is currently remembered for is their arse cheeks when LSU needed a ranked road win last year and a new defensive coaching staff.
