UGA fans showed up and showed out when they were good. They have been bad for a real long time. Give them something to root for more than a one off and they will get players there. Hell Alabama was a one sport program for two decades but when they are good they always show up and they play in Coleman

May you soar as high as we did when he was our coach!

Hey, just because chunks of the ceiling are falling to the floor is no reason to down talk the arena.

I'd bet almost anything you havne't been there in 5 years, and more than likely never have at all.
Stegeman is quite nice.

Ehh
Georgia is improving per se
But it’s a long way before saying the program is legitimate

well now wait just a guldurn second now! From the moment Crean was hired until the moment he was fired, the entirety of his tenure here, rival fans repeated countless times that Crean had nothing to do with that and it was dwayne wade that carried them there. So which is it?

I’m very okay with Chris Beard, but I do wish that everything aligned to where Mike White could have coached with us. Would’ve been cool to have him coaching his alma mater.

He’s a solid coach for UGA. He just kind of hit his ceiling here and was best for both parties to move on (perhaps similar to Richt leaving UGA).
I think this is spot on. Florida wanted more than early tourney exits over and over, but UGA would be ecstatic with making the tournament (at all) even if it's R64 or R32 exits pretty much as not great seeds.

Welcome back Willy. How were your progress reports?

That’s not how that works.

I mean that depends on your definition of legitimate. If your definition is sweet 16 contention then no we aren't and never will be ever. If your definition is a winning conference record and being on the tourney bubble more often than not then I'd say White is perfectly capable of that.

MW brought in some great talent at Florida, so I am sure he will do the same at Georgia. He needs to improve his in-game coaching and overall scheme as he tends to try and put round pegs in square holes sometimes.

Y’all are lucky Beard got fired from Texas and was available, or Ole Miss would’ve been hiring some rando from the Sun Belt.

we're about to land a top 10 player this afternoon (fingers crossed!) with potentially another top 30 player to follow.
For reference- we've only signed 3 top 30 players out of HS in our history.

compared to crean and that bumbling fricking oaf mark fox, white looks like a genius on the floor.

Mike White? You kidding, right? Improvement for UG but don't expect to average more than 15 wins a season and you won't be disappointed.

we had more than that last year in his first season

Once again as others have said, this is a classic case if differing expectations. UF wanted him to go to the elite 8 every year and got pissed when he "only" got them sweet 16s instead.
Simply MAKING the tournament at all woudl practically give him a 10 year extension here. Our fans will be very very satisifed with white.

Supposedly, they are doing something with the seating. At a minimum, they are moving the students closer to the court and in better seats overall, and moving the old farts who used sit on their hands at mid court somewhere less desirable. Might improve the atmosphere a bit
