Something else to think about...

In the second to last CFP rankings that year, FSU was #4 (even with injured QB). Texas and Alabama were #7 and #8.

If Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC championship, does Texas still jump FSU?

Bingo

And from what I understand, it wasn't actually him finding players like Verse

Their defense was incredible but no one wanted to see Michigan hold their offense to <100 yards in a playoff game

This. He inherited Jordan Travis then hit some homeruns in the portal. Then the whole team turned over and he had to fill every spot with portal guys because he hadn't developed anybody. And the dude actually went and got DJU to be his QB. He thought that was a good decision. I knew FSU was fricked as soon as it was announced he signed

They quit as a team together. Never a good idea.

UGA was also screwed over that year and they responded correctly.

You have to have a true belief in the program that every single game matters. Meaningless bowl game or not. It sets a precedent.

So basically what we got with Michigan vs Washington

Funny how no one questions Washington in all of this. Go back and look at their close wins over some shitty teams

Then of course you have the Michigan cheaters. FSU probably gets in if the Big 10 had held Michigan accountable lol

The ACC is going to make decent team look like world beaters. Don’t much care for Victim State

Put on his big boy pants, deal with the situation, and make his team do the same thing. Say, ‘this sucks, we got screwed by the committee, but we’re going to show up and play our hardest to win.’
UGA got hosed that year too, losing by 3 in the SECCG should’ve still got us in the playoffs, but we didn’t pout, we rolled down there and kicked arse.

Georgia had their opportunity to play their way in, how exactly were they screwed?

Georgia didn't get hosed, they LOST

If you had won, we probably both would have been in

We beat Texas straight up, who then was selected as 1 of the 4 playoff teams. UGA lost the SECCG by 3, finished 12 - 1 and wasn’t selected. UGA could certainly make the argument that they should’ve been 1 of the 4 playoff teams that year.

This is the correct answer.

What happened to FSU was not right.

UGA was the best team and they were also left out.

Much like when Ohio State lost the B1G title game the following year and went on to show they had the best team really once a true playoff began.

You can trace his firing and FSU misery over the last cpl of yrs back to that season.

The fact that Bobby Bowden was a coward, by his own admission, and FSU quit after being snubbed by the CFP are the exact reason no matter who they hire they are not going to be successful. The program in its entirety has no character

Might want to fire Kirby Smart then, he was a graduate assistant under Bobby Bowden and got his masters from FSU

oh man, you can't make this stuff up...Georgia fans have to be the dumbest fanbase on the planet lol

Also, weren't you the Georgia fan that said Nebraska was overrated in the 90s? LOL
