It really sucked for him that the qb got injured. They could have possibly won a natty. They were really good.

Sure I still think that was so unfortunate for him and an unfair deal all around. However, that doesn’t excuse how he managed to let the program fall apart the very next season. From a 13-0 start the season prior to 2-10 the following season almost seems impossible unless you were trying to be bad

I am wondering why Drinkwitz name keeps popping up for the next HC hiring. That is really stupid. He hasn't coached a team to a playoff, or he hasn't been worthy of going to one of the top Florida's football programs.

Their whole team opted out of that game

Speaks to poor leadership in the program. Subsequent events bear this out.

He’s punched above his weight class at Missouri and might be hireable. I don’t think FSU is in a position to demand CFP experience as a prerequisite for their search

And I kind of understand it too. You go 13-0, win your conference and are still kept out because a player was injured

It's a shame the committee went there imo. An undefeated record is a sacred thing, even with an injured QB. I mean they had a win over #12 LSU and beat a very solid Louisville team with their backup QB.

In Bama's defense they were 12-1 SEC Champs and had just beaten the last great 12-0 Kirby Death Star

Yeah the fact that gumps still claim they don’t get favorable treatment when they got to jump an undefeated P5 conference champion with a loss is laughable.

Half the DL went and started for the Rams. The defense was playing lights out at the end of the season

That game really wasn't a factor in anything, and hardly makes up for a playoff snub

2 sides of the ball. You played an easy schedule and then in your final games scraped by on your backup QB.

Meanwhile Alabama was coming off a conference championship win over #1 undefeated Georgia.

Might would have been different if you light it up offensively like Ohio St did back in the day with theirs at the end of the season. But you were clearly no where near the same team and lacked the resume on top of it.

For a game no one gave a shite about? With most of the starters gone? 3rd string QB?

I fully apologize for not giving a shite about this game lol

Tate Rodemaker was the back up. He was at least decent, but got hurt in the Gators game. We probably would have gotten him back for the playoff

Brock Glenn was 3rd string. He's the one that played against Louisville and Georgia. He was garbage

But our schedule wasn't that bad...we did blow LSU out.

It all is what it is though. And while the snub sucked, there is a lot more to why Norvell got fired.

Don't forget Drinkwitz probably doesn't want to be paid less to coach at FSU.

Yeah your schedule wasn't like James Madison or anything, just weaker compared to others.

It wouldn't have bothered me if they took FSU instead. It was crazy that we beat Georgia.

Is FSU willing to pay 10 million a year just like he is getting at Missouri? It is smarter and better to hire Jimbo Fisher or Brian Kelly that would only cost a lot less to be thee next HC. Or hired an assistant that would be cheaper to start out. I really do think that is the way to go for FSU.

People that seem to not understand the effect that the playoff snub had on that team are either intellectually dishonest or short-sighted and certainly never played the sport.
