Maybe, slightly. But the publishing company who owns the rights to the property decided it did not want to produce two of his lesser known works due to something in it that could be perceived as racist. (Something they have full authority to do) and right wingers are losing their shite over it because they want the government to force a private company to produce something it doesn’t want to produce. Otherwise known as authoritarianism.
You are just straight making shite up.
This is why people make fun of liberals. You're fricking retarded.

And we all know the next step in capitalism is:
Nothing in that picture is capitalism, other than people being free to do what they want with their own property.
Again, this kind of shite is why people think liberals are stupid.
PS: Given the time period, the people in those images were likely democrats. But that's not the kind of history people want to talk about for some reason.

It was posted by a conservative, satirically.
Not sure who you're proving is stupid here.

BUT, its like archie bunker ... you would never see All in The Family on the TV today but back in the 70's or whatever Archie could drop racial bombs on george jefferson and meathead michael and it was not really frowned upon ...Today,like it or not , it is ...
Of course it was frowned upon, Archie was being mocked as a bigot, that was the whole point. That’s just the same stupid reasoning that would make Blazing Saddles, a film that made mockery of racists, impossible to make today.
You have to know when you’ve jumped the shark, and people quit taking you at all seriously, when you have to start digging so deep for stuff to be offended by that you have to go after Dr Effin Seuss.

It wasn't two books but six. Perhaps next we will take Mark Twain's books out of the library and off the shelves, o r maybe Zane Grey or Louis LaMour....this is getting ridiculous. Friggin snowflakes trying to rewrite history and are worried about things that have little to nothing to do with every day life. Do they not have jobs or other responsibilities?

What’s ironic is our governor had a picture of himself in black face in his college year book and everyone is okay with that.

He has gone to the school of liberal forgiveness therefore he is no longer racist

i know that but that was then ,,,this is NOW . Do you really think an All in the Family type show or The Little Rascals in blackface in some of their episodes with poor buckwheat being cast as the "dumb" kid would ever be created today ???No . No . Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo . Look im as conservative as they come but some things from the past which were never challenged back then are being challenged now and , well, i love black women . they call me a crazy white boy cause i do things that the brothers wont in the bedroom

So to summarize......
A private company decides to discontinue some of its products because they don't feel like the products represent their company in a positive light. A sizable number of people (who had no idea the products existed for the most part) took offense to this as they felt it was an example of cultural changes they don't support. Then those folks precede to put their distaste for the change on social media blaming other citizens who don't represent the company in any capacity all the while accusing those citizens of being thin skinned and reactionary.
Lol.

Yeah, he's referring to Governor Northram in Virginia.
Not to get too deep in the weeds on this, but apparently he didn't remember the picture and didn't think he was in it, at least initially. (For context, the picture was taken in either 81 or 84, so 35-38 years before it brought up in 2019). Then he wasn't sure if he was or wasn't in it, and others near him have said he took the blame on himself because the alternative - denying it - wasn't going to make matters better.
I leave it to the board to believe him or not. Just reading what happened with it. As a VA resident, I remember the story breaking, but had a lot of stuff going on like my father-in-law fighting cancer. Wasn't really high on my "give a shite" list.

Yeah no that’s a terribly inaccurate summarization on this thread/situation
