you simply have to have an exception for Leach

The winning percentage requirement is fine and good, but it lacks all context. He took over three programs that are historically bad and were mired in mediocrity at the time of taking over and made each of them respectable (winning his division at both TTU and WSU and who knows what he would have eventually done as MSU). The Air Raid expedited a change in offensive philosophy in football that is felt at every single level played today.

I agree with the sentence "you cannot tell the story of CFB without Mike Leach".

Very few individuals change the way football is played. Mike Leach did that. The only other person I can think of that had a similar impact on the game is Lawrence Taylor.

Leach's impact on the X’s and O’s, coaching tree, respect among peers, and legendary personality will get him the nod one day, I don’t anticipate it being long either.

I'm sorry, but unless the same applies to Schellenberger and Erk Russell then no HOF. Either you meet the standards or you don't.

If he had retired instead of passed he STILL should have an exception here.

Yeah... your comment I responded to literally had zilch in it about retiring for "health". Why not say, "sorry, i should have added that word because it isn't clear I was talking about retiring due to health". Because it sure as shite was not "obvious".

Yep. There should be a place for him for that reason.

Y'all are really showing your age thinking that Leach had more of an impact on CFB than Schellenberger.

All it would take is for a few teams to forfeit 3 old wins.

If just one of his losses were a win he would be at .600

If that is all you know about Leach I feel sorry for you. Dude was one of the creators of the Pass Happy college game we all know and love. This goes far beyond quirkiness, and candy corns.

Howard Schellenberger literally built The U when they were about to drop football and he's not in.

If they had just beat Texas Tech in their last bowl instead of losing.

The modern game of football, is literally the way it is because of Mike Leach.

That is a fact.

You are a clown and should be banned. Also facts.

Leach's record:
158-107 - .596

Flip one game:
159-106 - .600

I'm 98% sure they will make an exception, but I'm 100% sure Leach wouldn't care either way.

Then they better make exceptions for other coaches like Schellenberger, Erk, and Pete Carroll.

Mike Leach also hold the distinction of coaching his unranked (AP era) teams to wins against ranked opponents 18 times. It’s the most in the AP era. Get the man into the hall of fame!
