He would be a perfect fit at Arkansas. I would fear playing them every year

Ok i officially want him to be our coach. i think our team needs an hour long verbal bashing after every game this season to get the mentality fixed around there.

Then Spurrier Jr would be back on the USC payroll.

Listen to him talk about what mascot would win. Good point about the Ute trading for a rifle.

Give him a Butch Jones @ Bama type position and call it a day.

Have you watched Bama this year? Passing works. Specially with elite WRs.

ETA:

One advantage with ML is he wouldn't be going after the same guys everyone else is on O. He needs a drop back passer. Plenty of those high level guys leaving the state of AL and GA. He pulls WR talent. He would kill it here.

bama's O does not resemble Leach's O at all. Hal Mumme ran that O at UK. Hell, Leach was the OC. It didn't work then either and SEC D's are much more athletic now. You saw how a bad Auburn D stopped his O just several years ago. You have to run the football in this league to be successful.

Leach is a west coast guy.
He’d despise life in the southeast.

He would be coaching Tennessee right now if they hadn't gone all Shakespeare on their AD.

Wut? They had like triple the passing yards against us. And a ton of first downs. And he wasn't working with elite talent.

k. If you think it will work, it might.........oh wait, let's just see how it worked at UK, because that exact O has already been in this league.

It went 3-5 in 1997
It went 4-4 in 1998

but it would work better now that SEC D's are more athletic?

I think Odom can have success with us ... that being said, I want the pirate. I love that dude.

Leach hasn't ever had the resources he'd have at a UT or Ark. Look at the programs he's been a HC and what they were before and what he did with limited resources. Hell...WSU had only won something like 3 games in the 3 years before he went there.

Also look at his coaching tree...It's pretty damn long.

Oh yeah...let's just add yet another level of wtf to our games. Two Columbias (ours is better), currently you have a former Clemson QB and we have a former Clemson RB, we definitely consider y'all yankees and y'all definitely consider us southerners (aka rednecks to y'all) and if y'all got Leach while Hilinski is at Carolina you'd have his brother's former coach as your own. What else can we do to make this interesting?

Couple things

That was his 1st game at Wazzu vs Auburn right? They were a dumpster fire when he took over.

Second, he does run the ball now. And they play defense. His scheme would absolutely work at a place that was happy going 8-4/9-3 every year.
