I am in the medical field and hardly buy into the "fear porn" . I only look at and believe papers that are peer reviewed by other scientist and/or people in the medical field. I then evaluate their data and come to my own conclusion. That is why I'm requesting a link to a peer reviewed research paper. Provide one, I'll read it and if it is true, I'll change my viewpoint.
That is all I'm asking.

I don't think they would even if I were outnumbered. Risks of permanent brain damage and/or death too much to risk for first few in line. They like to pick on people with disabilities, elderly or physically tiny, frail people.

And here's to a speedy recovery for coach Mike Leach.

Correct

Problem is at his age and recovery status he may be too good to get transplant but not good enough to get back to normal.

BTW, thank you for focusing on the health side and not the political side.

When I saw him on the sideline of the Egg Bowl, first thing I thought of was CHF. Hope it is not but he looked like many I know who have been down that road already. Again, I hope I am wrong but stay focused on the person and them healing and leave the politics crap out of it at this point.

Prayers to Coach Leach. I know there had been rumors of him stepping down due to his health. With this happening I hope that he decides to do so and take care of himself.

Yep, boat slip out of Bay St Louis is my prescription for him. Take it easy and sail that boat, have ole Lane and Sam and the boys down to visit and get skinny and tanned

I’m not sure how things work as far as getting a transplant but like most things would his wealth and status help him get around a few rules to get one when otherwise a regular Joe wouldn’t be able to

He could have tripped and fell in the house and got a concussion for all I know.

Hopefully he’s fine no matter the situation.

If it was heart attack they wouldn’t have taken him from Starkville to Jackson via ambulance.

Wrong. He ain't that rich or famous. Plus, I don't think the Pirate would take an organ from a younger, more deserving person. He's not wired that way. He's got some morals and principles.

Why the frick are people even headed down this road already though?!!!

for them taking him to Jackson it has to be fairly serious otherwise he would have stayed at the local or nearby hospital. God Speed.

UMMC has an air ambulance or two. Unless they were on other trips, going by ground might be a good sign.

Good question

could have been UAB just as easy, maybe Memphis, and it was not by helicopter.

maybe the fact it was not helicopter is a positive sign. They kept him comfortable in the ambulance and had him ready for arrival an hour later.

Its not about being rich or famous. Its about having the financial means to travel throughout the US to the different transplant centers and get on multiple wait lists, which increases your chances of getting a matching donor, faster. Your average person on the transplant list doesn’t have the means to do that.

Now being reported he was taken to Oktibah to get stabilized and then flown to UMMC by an air ambulance

Possibly because he looked like later stage CHF at Egg Bowl

Possibly because this is tRant where everything is discussed to an OCD level?
