You're right but this is the way life is for a public figure. If your neighbor has a massive heart attack there won't be a lot of people trying to scoop the story.
Mike Leach and his family should get the same level of privacy that normal people do, but this is just the way it is for public figures, always has been and it won't change. I agree it doesn't make it right though.
Really, we're as much a part of that problem though. We're sitting around here waiting for some news and there will always be people that want to gain some sort of noteriety or credibility by being first.

What was the point of this comment man? That literally has nothing to do with anything.
This man is 61 with a family, and is supposedly fighting for his life. Maybe have some compassion
ETA: I misread. Prayers for coach leach, his family, and all healthcare workers involved with his care.

This news today is completely shocking and heartbreaking. I’ve always been very fond of ML. An attorney turned successful CFB coach who never played FB at the collegiate level is beyond impressive. Not to mention his witty and dry sense of humor that would always make me laugh. Praying he pulls through this.
Assuming the facts are true... if Coach not only attended a Christmas party last night, but in fact hosted it, that would indicate to me that he was not dealing with some deteriorating health condition as many are speculating. Someone battling an illness, a serious one at that, would not put themself through that. Focus would be on recovery.
Until we know more, I’m just struggling to make sense of it all.
Assuming the facts are true... if Coach not only attended a Christmas party last night, but in fact hosted it, that would indicate to me that he was not dealing with some deteriorating health condition as many are speculating. I’m probably going to get downvoted, but public figures don’t have the exact same right to privacy as an average schmuck walking down Main Street. It’s part of the price you pay for willingly putting yourself in the limelight.
At the same time you should show common decency where they’re concerned and especially in situations like this. There’s a wife and four children and three grandchildren going through the ultimate nightmare right now.

I can confirm that he was at a Christmas party last night. Not sure if he hosted it, but it was at someone's house. A friend of mine who works at State posted a picture on Instagram with Leach last night. I wanted to text the friend today but decided not to...I figure he is having a rough time. I can't imagine being around someone one night then less than 12 hours later they are fighting for their life.

Pneumonia is nothing to mess with. If this incident was indeed a stroke or heart attack, could have been brought on by the long term stress on his heart/circulatory system.
