I could see him going to Michigan for that. LSU won't match either and I don't blame them.

I never said that. I only said she had a good chance.

Just like with coaches salaries, this escalation in NIL numbers affects all future player deals. "If so and so got this, then I want that." etc. You should care because it affects any NIL deal your school is going to try and put together in the future to get a 5-star.

If they do, he flips, and they don't win a national championship, maybe that will be the end of this insanity.

Given CFB's a pro sport now, yes.

That would be hilarious.

LSU should raise its bid to make Michigan spend more NIL resources.

Can't blame the kid for taking it and certainly can't blame LSU for moving on if they do. That class from 2 years ago was considered one of the best qb classes in recent memory. Nico, Arch, Dante Moore, Malachi Nelson, Rashada and Jackson Arnold were all considered future 1st round picks and probably similar in potential and value as Underwood. 2 years later the only team that has received any kind of return on investment is Tennessee. While I do think Texas will see it with Arch the next 2 years, the other 4 have either transferred or will transfer and I'm not sure any of them are guaranteed to be impact college players.

Why not go throw that money at Josh Hoover and see if he'd leave TCU or John Mateer at Wash State?

Or, they flip him, use that as a draw for elite talent and end up in the hunt for 2-3 years. If so, this deal will be viewed as CFB's new paradigm.

Actually, he will have to start the first game of the '25 season. Based on their QB situation, that would be highly probable.

that's what this was always going to be and somehow people didn't see any issue with it.

The workaround for blatantly paying recruits to come to your school is saying "we are paying for their name and image so we can use him in promotional materials" or some other shite.

You stated on the Politics page Kamala would win easily before the election. Deny it all you want.

Just wait until they do away with the eligibility requirements.

Either you have the money or you don't. I knew this kid's recruitment was headed this way. If Michigan is willing to spend this kind of money on Underwood they are willing to surround him with the coaching and player talent to facilitate his success.

It's a big roll of the dice, but splurging on a QB's the only way to get a seat at the table. Otherwise, you're essentially wasting the $ spent on other positions.

I'm not gonna blame him if he accepts that deal
It is what it is these days in college athletics
This is what it's become
I can spend my discretionary money on other entertainment at some point
I just hope they don't lose the fans, because that's what makes college sports unique
