Miami's 2026 schedule - the worst in the country among realistic title contenders?

There has been a lot of talk on here the last few weeks about the quality (or lack thereof) of schedules, stemming from Cignetti's comments about the B10 being the best conference and the SEC having a hype machine and being overrated. Now, as we all know his comments are garbage. There has also been great discussion about the joke schedules that Texas Tech, ND, and BYU play.
Lost in the shuffle has been Miami. I just took a look at their schedule and my goodness it is awful. I'd say it's easily the worst among realistic title contenders. They're very likely going to only play 1 ranked team in the regular season, they play in the garbage ACC, and they play a directional Michigan school and something called FAMU. The 2nd best team on their schedule is probably Clemson, who went 7-6 last year and is less talented this year. If they lose to ND and 1 conference game and get shut out of the ACC Championship Game I think they're fricked for the CFP.

I don't see this happening, do you?

As a fan of a BIG school I hope all the campaigning, that has clearly already started, to get more SEC schools into the CFP at the expense of schools like Miami and ND works. Based on the last 3 years it'll make the path for a BIG school to hoist the league's 4th straight Natty that much easier.

I don't, but I also didn't see them losing to SMU and Louisville last year, either.

I mean they scheduled ND in one of the 3 non conference games. Teams cannot control their in conference games so I don’t mind it

Yeah, with a schedule like that, they're a very viable preseason pick to win it all
Notre Dame plays garbage schedules too but I think Miami is loaded enough to crush teams in the playoff in spite of whereas I still have questions about Notre Dame's capabilities in 2026 without Love and Price
