If T. Boone was still alive, Okie Lite would be crushing it.

They will get more than that.

I mentioned this would happen a week or so ago. This is just the first guy who does it.

All the businesses around the area/state who support the programs do this. At the end of the day it adds up.

So this guy has his donation set at about $500k a year.

Now add another 20 businesses doing this same thing. You've gone from $500 a month, to $10k a month. Of course, the size of the yearly "donations" will vary from business to business, but you get the general idea of how it stacks.

One of the rules is that a school can't use it as a recruiting tool. But when you do things this way, the school never has to say anything. Right now every player who signs to Miami knows they are guaranteed a minimum of $500 a month. Miami coaches don't have to say shite.

And because they are allowed to have agent types to find these deals for them, it will be very easy for the players to find and sign all those deals.

This is just the start.

Lol and so many people said I was overreacting to the NIL. CFB is toast folks. This is only a week into it. Wait until there are entire systems constructed around this new law, and it gets fully taken advantage of

It is really crazy how much mileage this group is getting for only $500/month per player. They are certainly getting their money back on this.

After a couple of years it will be revealed that the guys are making far more than the female athletes. Then the squawking over gender equity, pay gap and Title IX will hit warp speed.

Should be good times.

It's the first I've seen where the person/business did the entire team instead of just a few. Might have been more, I haven't really kept track of them all.

It's the smartest way to do it by far for actual supporters of the team. Lessens resent among players, addresses all positions, keeps players from transferring as quickly, all recruits will know their minimum payments etc.

Meanwhile "stars" will get higher offers from other sources.

Do you think they'll make it mandatory to report the money being earned by each player?

Is there anybody who thinks letting college players make money off their talent isn't a bad thing? I don't know. I'm not really sold either way.

Agree.

No interest in open bidding for players and CFB just being minor league NFL.

Well one company giving $6k a year isn’t much but if you get 5-6 companies that will do that for every single athlete then you have something .

Also got to remember these kids aren’t having to pay for food, housing or clothes really and still get extra money from the school each semester.

Basically what they are getting from the NIL is straight spending money

Here's a better question: was there anything wrong with college sports going back 50 years? No. In fact it was so good that many people preferred college sports. Why make a big mess of it, just so some scrub with no chance to make it in pro sports can make a tiny bit of endorsement money in college? The guys who stand to make real money on this would make it in the pros anyway

It has been for decades. The only difference is we are being a little more honest about it now.
