What a fricking idiot. No way we were winning this game. At least we kept it respectable in the second half despite the pushing/shoving and general thug behavior of our opponent,

Nope. The refs decided it in the first four minutes. And then we didn't make our shots from there. But then again, most of the team is playing with a lot of fouls so subbing a lot. Glad that is over with.

Kelvin Sampson turns 71 this year. And if it were not for that, I'd be screaming for Kentucky to go money whip this guy.
His big sin, get this kids, was TEXTING DURING A NON-TEXTING PERIOD. That's what he got a show-cause for.
I like watching Houston. Their brand of ball "makes sense" to me. Doesn't always win. Might not be min/max kind of optimal. But it sure is easy on the eyes. You always know the kids played their hardest.
Tubby Smith had a couple teams like that, before everything fell apart. The Chuck Hayes / Erik Daniels team that went 16-0 in the SEC comes to mind.

Im still trying to reconcile the team I saw just the other day beat Texas rather soundly just absolutely no-showing on defense against St Louis. It is inexplicable to me.

It's not inexplicable it's your coach. He has a history. You'll have to get used to it but don't overthink it.
