Baseball. It is the only sport of the major sports where the most talented team does not always win. The ump can call a pitch that should be a strike a ball and vice versa. A bloop single can give a team and unexpected win. Error late in the game can cost a team.

Basketball and football games are usually won bc they have super star players or coaches. Usually those players come up in the clutch moment.

its not called March Madness for no reason?

I have a hard time trying to understand your thought process. In what world does the most talented football or basketball team always win?

I’d take baseball over squeaky shoe ball but that’s just my personal preference in the two sports in general. Obviously, I’d be happy with either.

For comparison sake, would a team that is the equivalent of Coastal Carolina in football ( say TCU) beat a talented team like LSU ( or Georgia) for the national championship?

No they would not. We saw that happen. TCU less talented than Georgia had the most lopsided loss in a national championship game.

Baseball is America's pastime and always will be. I do not care what TV ratings say.

Probably not, because they would probably not make it to an NC game in football, but your post said "sport" and didn't mention a NC game. Underdogs win all the time in football and sometimes go deep into March in Basketball.

I’ve watched a grand total of 3 college basketball games in my life, so obvious to say I’d say baseball. LSU could win the championship every year in basketball or loose every game every year in baseball and I would be just as content. Not speaking for the fanbase as a whole, just never developed a love for that sport like football and baseball.

Considering the thread title is based off Basketball NC or Baseball NC, it is implied which one do you like better.

My answer is baseball. There are better odds of the less talented team winning a national championship over a more talented team.

Look at this past season March Madness compared to this CWS. More upsets occured in baseball tournament than basketball. March Madness was a snooze. All top seeds made it. With NIL and transfer, that will be the norm with an occasional exception.

Only 3 of the top 8 seeds made it to Omaha. The top 2 seeds never made it out their regional. Neither did the number 7 , 10, 11 seeds.

would love to have one men's basketball championship. I like baseball better than basketball. for me, the 3 point shot ruined basketball, even though i may be in the minority. it's all dunks and 3 pointers. At one time when there was no shot clock and no 3 pointer, i thought men's college basketball was the best sport there was. i could watch all the conferences play on nba and enjoy the sport. now it's just running and jumping. Sure, the best teams have some real basketball players and play more as a team, but it's generally 5 individuals doing their thing. JMO.

Every sports fan in the country watches March madness. Maybe 1/8 of sports fans watch college baseball.

The question is which championship you would choose, not what’s most popular. I really don’t care that more people watch March Madness, I only care about what I personally enjoy watching. I watch maybe 3-4 college basketball games a season. I watched over 60 LSU baseball games this past season. Give me another baseball title all day, every day.

Yeah, this one year and then enter the draft is a bunch of B.S. that has killed the passion for the game.

LSU is going to post about baseball until Women’s basketball season starts for them.

And Texas 8&4 fans are going to post about how great they are in every major sport until the truth hits shortly after (insert sport) season starts and they realize that they are mediocre at best. What football team has the 2nd most football NCs in the BCS/playoff era? I'll help you, its LSU. When was the last time Texas 8&4 has won a national championship in any sport, lol?

Stopped watching basketball in the early 2000s because the game became a sport for dudes who flail like they are being thrown from a moving car going 200 mph when they barely get touched. Its like watching a bunch of professional victims play a sport.

We've been over this many times. College baseball isn't bigger than college basketball regardless of how blue in the face you get screaming that it is.

You got downvoted for speaking truth...

College baseball only really matters for teams below parallel 36/30 .

Above that... the weather precludes them from taking college baseball seriously since it has a late winter and spring season. there are only a handful of competitive teams above that line.

Meanwhile there are all kinds of really good basketball teams at schools up there.

If I listed the number of baseball natty's it would take to equal one basketball natty for me.... I don't think anyone would believe me. I'll just say it's not close
