re: My Movie Theater Experience

I worked in a movie theater. Never get the "butter". That shite is nasty. That machine is most likely not cleaned on a regular basis either.

The price of concessions will always be high. It is how the movie theater makes money. The movie theater gets shite return from the actual tickets. They rent the movie to show. Now with streaming, the movies are staying not as long as they used to stay in the theater.

Why do you both need your own popcorn? Just buy the bigger one and split. Usually has at least 1 free refill. Or could not buy concessions. Sneak in own snacks or drinks. I don't see the need to bitch about prices if you paid for it.

Just finished my 6th revision. Ran it thru multiple AI programs and received high marks (taking it with grain of salt). I took a writing course and the instructor (a published author) told me I write smooth and beautifully. Said I have a strong protoganist and story to work with and the novel has commercial sound.

Have queried 20 literary agents so far. Hopefully one can ask for full manuscript. If not, I'll query 20 more agents and repeat if necessary until 1 likes my manuscript. My 6th revision has 100,600 words. More of a psychological thriller.

One sentence to convey the story :When an old courtroom victory comes back as a deadly trap, Chris Tracker must race through Washington’s elite circles to find the truth before a corrupt Navy power player erases everyone who can connect him to the killing.

While waiting for responses, I'm starting on 2nd novel. Have ideas for books 3 and 4 outlined also.

Will Ferrell along with Ben Stiller has not been funny in years.
The tweet from the account that was screen shot is a parody account. That account gets so many views that many people actually believe it to be true.
I was at a friend's house. He asked me if I thought LSU was going to win. I told him , "yes. By double digits". Made a bet with him and other friends he had over. LSU won by double digits. I pocketed $300.
I just counted how many tickets were sold for Thursday opening day. Only looked at 1 theater (Cinemark Perkins Rowe). A total of 137 tickets sold for 16 showings tomorrow. 2 showings had 30+ people. A few under 10. A few had 16.

DC is not going to like the direction James Gunn is taking them. I have zero interest in seeing this movie. I never saw Superman bc I had no interest from the trailers. They will never learn.
F all the all way around.

Football had CFP expectations w/ Nuss coming back. Key additions to WRs (more speed) and defensive players. Failure all the way around as offense sucked and Nuss injury never being detected/healed. It was a huge failure.

Basketball had low expectations and lived up to it. Failure to do anything.

Baseball is the biggest disappointment. Omaha is always going to the be expectation. Winning back to back is harder now than it was 30 years ago. The absolute crash of the team was unexpected. The transfer portal was complete whiff. They played with heart at times but had way more self inflicted wounds than should have been. Failure to make the NCAA tournament as well as being swept in 5 series is something that should never happen.

That's pretty good. Are you hoping to build a series with the characters? My goal is to make a series of novels. Have the main character plus 2 supporting characters be with him in future novels. I have the second novel storyline planned. As soon as I finish the polish of the first and upload, I will start the second novel.

I have 37 chapters. Just under 89K words. I'll upload to Amazon Kindle as well. Congrats getting to the end. It is tough doing first time. I am looking into some online writing classes. Would like to get an instructor feedback.

re: Citadel season 2? Worth it?

I finished Season 2. I had to rewatch Season 1 to refresh the memory. Season 1 was decent. Season 2 is very spy formula written. Mahy scenes are very predictable. Some very over the top acting and fighting scenes. A few twists. It will probably get a Season 3 but will be very different. Stanley Tucci is the one thing that makes it watchable.

I have used a few AI programs to see where I need to adjust. I have a few family/friends that are reading to give me human feedback. I know where my strength is and what my weakness is. I just need to fix the weakness area.

Writing my first novel

Posted by MasterKnight on 5/11/26 at 7:51 pm
For the last 6 months I have been working on a novel. I have completed my first rough draft. I sent the full document to some friends I trust to read and give me feedback. I am continuing to make revisions (not structurally just tighten some areas). I am looking to see if this is something that others would feel like reading based on the pitch idea. My ultimate goal is to write a series of novels with this main character and 2 supporting characters. I have the story planned for the 2nd novel. Here is the pitch idea :

When a former Navy JAG officer is framed for the murder of a colleague, he must team up with his allies to uncover a long-buried conspiracy tied to his biggest case — before a powerful figure from his past destroys everything he has left.
The story features a layered intellectual villain, a capable hero who's trying to leave violence behind, strong female characters who pull their weight, and a D.C. setting that mixes political power, gritty alleys, and hidden threats. It builds to a tense final act with real personal stakes and justice served through (mostly) the system.

Any feedback is welcome. Thank you
The only team in the last 5 years to do well was Tennessee after winning in 24. They made it to the supers. They had a strong start. LSU got hot late in '24 and almost made it to the supers.

Miss St and OM never made it to NCAA tournament. This will be the norm until the NCAA fixes the calendar. Teams playing in Omaha are missing out on players in the portal.

This year, LSU is seeing what misses in the portal are. I think Jay understands what he did wrong and will fix it. It sucks but this is college baseball now. Team wins the NC and will have a rough year the following unless it is a young team and keep their core players.
Hollywood is running out of ideas. It is either a reboot that no one wants. A sequel from 20, 30, or 40 years ago (maverick the exception). A comic book superhero movie that is not true to the character of fan base or the audience.
Now the latest thing the last few years is biopics on musicians. Rumor has it that Madonna is pitching an idea for a biopic about her life.

The sad thing is the original movie ideas that are made have no marketing behind it.
The Mandalorian season 1 was great. Season 2 was decent. Then they fired Gina, Pedro decided he only wanted to do voice over work, and then season 3 absolutely sucked arse.
All Star Wars projects Disney has done have been a huge middle finger to the core fans. I have no interest in this movie. The SB trailer did nothing to persuade me to go see this in the theatre.

re: How many years to rebuild?

Looking at the roster, there are a lot of young players. The portal was a huge miss. I trust Jay to prioritize what he needs. The season will end earlier than last year and he can get a head start on the top portal players that fit his scheme.
It is what it is. Disappointed in the season but I won't panic.
The team cant hit. If Schmidt pitched last night, LSU still loses. Then LSU loses the best chance to win a game in the series. Evans had one bad pitch that was a HR. LSU left too many men in scoring position.

Next year is when Schmidt is the Friday starter.

Wade will have the fan that wanted him back very happy. Let's not kid ourselves with who the best coach and best sport is behind the money maker that is football. It is baseball.

I hope Wade can bring LSU to the Final Four one day. We all know what expectations are with baseball and what Johnson has done in 4 years as LSU head coach.

re: When is it time to panic???

Posted by MasterKnight on 3/21/26 at 5:28 pm to
This team has no leadership like past teams. The transfers have not panned out. This team was overrated bc of the name. SEC is the real season but the hitting is not there.
