Other than Football and basketball, they would get killed in every other sport. Not worth it.

If they played SEC teams every week, they’d only be better than Vanderbilt consistently. It would be a bloodbath. Just because they’ve had a respectable stretch using a bunch of partial qualifiers and SEC/JUCO transfers in a G5 conference doesn’t mean they’d be able to compete yearly were they added to the SEC.

Not to mention it is a joke of a school, on an awful campus, with no fans, in a terrible stadium, and it’s nothing more than a commuter school for Memphis kids who can’t go anywhere else. They’re the west TN version of MTSU. Competing in basketball wouldn’t reconcile all that. They’re not even the most popular team in their own city by a long shot. Honestly, they’re likely about 3rd behind UT and Ole Miss.

Didn't Mississippi State spank Missouri at home by like 20 just a few years ago?

We don’t claim PlateJohnson as a Msu fan. In fact, by the sheer number of stupid posts he makes, I have to wonder if he is a fan of another team trying to make MSU look bad.

Seriously, have you ever seen anyone start more dumb threads than him? It’s like he’s addicted to starting threads.

Yeah and we lost to Vandy and Arkansas that year too. Congrats. We are 2-1 vs you and go ahead and google Mizzou vs Miss State in winsipedia. We are a better program in every category, but two.

I think they very well could. Mizzou has the size and enough talent at the skill positions to play SEC ball, they've just suffered from some very, very conservative coaching. I think Memphis would crumble, even in the East. The size difference would kill them week after week - even in a normal eight game year. We've all seen smaller teams make up the difference on emotion for one game - but you can't ride that wave for an entire season.

Memphis is a no-go area and would be more dangerous than corona to visiting fans.

I would rather SEC fans visit safe cities. Hard pass from me.

I guess that was part of the reason why the SEC delegation to Morgantown didn't result in WV joining. I've heard story after story from Louisville fans going to WVU. Cars keyed, scuffles entering and leaving the game. These are all pretty normal folks - other than being Louisville fans, of course.

Sounds like a great trade. Worse sports, academics, and crappy dangerous city. You should be the new SEC commissioner.
