Alabama linebacker Mekhi Brown, the player who drew attention to himself during the national championship game when he attempted to attack a Crimson Tide assistant coach, has transferred to Tennessee State, according to a university source.

I can't help but wonder if this was a transfer or else be kicked off the team situation.

He should likely move his family before Nick can get to them

Pretty important lesson about how one significant lapse in judgment can take you from playing in the national championship game to OUT.

My guess is processed. No way they keep him after going after a coach. Say what you want about Saban, but he isn't going to put up with crap like that.

This was likely Nick's gracious way of telling him to GTFO.

But that one guy in his melt thread last week thread said that Saban would cover up child rape before he would kick a player off of the team, this has to be fake news

Of course, AFTER he helps them win a game. Typical with this program, only discipline when it suits their agenda.

Hard to kick him off the team during the game. Too much other stuff going on.

I seriously doubt Saban knew what was going on with Brown during the game. I'm guessing once he saw the tape he figured it was time to cut bait with the kid.

I imagine that Nick had a lot of punishment drills set up for him, and he didn't want any part of them.

I imagine that Nick figured he would react that way.

What was Saban supposed to do? Stop coaching and go into the locker room to deal with something he didn't even know was happening on the sideline?

He didn’t really do much to help. He made one tackle on ST and that was it.

He already was on his way even before that incident.

He applied to TSU over a month ago. He was gone regardless. Lost in the depth chart. I don't think he was kicked out because of what happened on Monday.
