I was down on King after watching his play at the beginning of last season . I wanted to like him. I just didn’t get the feeling he could lead the team. So I always expected Max to start. We probably eke out the win last week with him leading the offense.

Side note: Max had some nice things to say about LSU in his post game.

not what I wanted to see.

with King, I think we would win pretty easily.

with Max, it allows Aggy to run the ball and play defense. don't overthink it. think its 60/40 that Aggy wins this week.

I think a bigger concern is that Jimbo has an entire offseason with Max and King, and had 14 games of film for Max, and he still went with King

maybe an aggie can shed some light on this but iirc jimbo was feeling the pressure to start king from boosters?

He's garbage. That's okay, so is the offense that he works in. As to King, he is great in practice. And Fisher thinks practice is everything

A&M finished with 264 total yards.

That’s beautiful.

Man that guy has a slow delivery. Takes him like 5 seconds to throw a pass.

MJ is a competitor and rarely makes horrible mistakes. He is not elite but is solid.

King has the foot speed of a fast WR but not good decision making so far in games, much higher upside.

You never heard of a gamer who steps up his performance when the bullets are flying? That's what Max Johnson is.

No sane CFB Coach is going to choose a starter based on what he did on another team.

He's a mediocre game manager. Shows flashes of brilliance only occasionally, but doesn't turn the ball over.

And we only ran 52 plays. Jimbos philosophy is to milk the clock on offense and snap the ball with 1 or 2 seconds on the play clock. We have also been unable to sustain drives this year which means fewer plays.

Despite the low yards, Max only had 1 bad throw last night. A lot of those incompletions he threw perfectly and the guy was either blanketed or couldn't make the catch. Our offense sucked but that was not on Max at all. He played very well in his 1st start and would have won the game last week if he had started.
