If you wanted to pump me some sunshine about Mateer and improving for next season...I will listen..same OC, better WR room, better TE room, we'll see about the Oline...2nd year in the program, under Brent...I could see them get to 9-3...he's gonna have to win some games for them this year...instead if the D doing it for them...I could see also see him being the same qb..no improvement at all...and losing the close call games this year...and being 7-5...or worse 6-6...I like his upside though

Mateer is a rich man's Beau Pribula. Couldn't the Sooners do better?

We all knew he was coming back. Hawkins the 2nd QB and OU legacy had already portaled out to WVU…

With no broken hand and Jason Witten as TE coach Mateer gets back to what we expected. But I will say Mateers deep passes are better than his short passes probably because with the deep passes he throws straight overhand not the unreliable sidearm crap he does for short passes….

They just went 10-2 regular season, 10-3 overall with him during an injury.

What is it that you think Witten is going to do for OU as TE coach? I mean besides bring in his son to play LB?

I will say Mateer will have a lot more weapons next year and more experienced offensive line. The guy had 1 receiver to throw to and he had a broken hand. He still went 10-2 vs a brutal schedule.

I attended the Mizzou game and universally the OU fans wanted him benched. He made one good slant throw and then a bunch of bad decisions the fans looked to have already been expecting.

His do you Sooners feel about this? Surely you didn’t give him a bag?
