2004 Auburn was as good a football team as I've ever seen.

It's not even the best Auburn team in the last 11 seasons.

Talent wise it probably was.

How many of those 25-43 year old are being recruited to play college football?

The 17/18 year old kids are the ones that matter, as far as advancing a program. You remember UT winning a title and I don't remember UGA winning one...at a personal, fan level that's obviously a big deal in your favor. But a 17 year old high school kid knows neither so essentially it doesn't really matter.

2009 Alabama had single digit victories over shitty Tennessee and Auburn teams

I didn't say anything about talent, I said best.

2004 was a great, great team that didn't lose a game. But in a one-off game I'm taking 2010. 2010 had far more close calls than 2004, and had about 5 or 6 games they EASILY could have lost. But Cam is simply a difference maker. '10 would have trouble with carnell/ronnie, and 04's defense was clearly better than 10's...but I just have to assume that cam would find a way to win.

True,

I was just commenting on a fan level responding to a post making it seem like fans shouldn't care about the difference.

Only thing I will say about a recruit is that most CFB media members and fans say that the start of the BCS era was really the start of the new age of CFB so TN has a title in that era and gets mentioned a lot more than UGA's title.

I don't know. That 2004 team was amazing.

I think the 2004 team was the best Auburn team since I've been old enough to understand football (1990ish).

2010 was a special group that had one of the best CFB players ever and was really mentally tough, but that 2004 team was loaded.

Oh no it definitely matters overall, and to fans in particular. I'm just saying that it doesn't really matter to recruits. They care what's happened in the last like 6 or 7 years, when they first started remembering what was going on in CFB. For the most part.

the hell does that mean? I've never heard that before, and if that is true (whatever that even means) does that mean that that era is now dead?

YOu and I both know that UT doesn't get talked about near as much as UGA the last decade.

They had 3 single digit victories, including a 3 point win over 3 loss Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl and an 8 point win over 6-7, Spencer Pennington-led Bama. They should've been in the title game over Oklahoma. But USC would've run train on them.

That's the look Richt gets when someone asks him what his record is against Tennessee.
