Disagree but an incoming freshman class should be released of their scholorship if the coach bolts like Mel Tucker.

If the NCAA does go to instant transfer out of fear of a lawsuit by the athletes and activist lawyers .... then fans should start boycotting college football.

College football has already been extorted into paying players on top of full ride scholarships, and I get that. Not a bad move.

But then came the transfer portal. Okay, so they get to play if they are graduate transfers, but they have to sit out a year if not. Cool, I get it.

But now they want to allow instant transfers and instant eligibility?

Quit supporting college football, boycott their asses instantly.

Some All-Conference player at a shite school going 3-8 every year can say frick this and transfer to an Ohio St, LSU or Bama and play immediately. It only makes the rich richer, could get out of control

It was actually a good post. He's right. Georgia is and always has been soft. You should probably read it and stop being a jackass.

Compared to what other amature or even minor league team sports?

Do you think players should get more money? If so,how much? And what should be the pay scale?

You think that's a good post?

It's enough to make an English teacher go either Howard Beale or Rick James.

Larry,Moe and now Curly

I've proved that idiot wrong in every one of his moronic rants against UGA and Ga HSFB and he's never once responsed when I throw facts in his face.

Why would I freakin read the same thing every single time?

Uga is just a soft program. When they get matched up with the LSUs of the world, they get pushed around, dominated, and exposed. I'm sorry if this pisses uga fans off, but I'm going by what I see and what I have seen over a long period of time

The guy whose comments have you in such a tizzy, Mark Richt, was 4-4 vs LSU...genius.

Then give any kid you don’t want to transfer four year guarantied scholarship.

Meh if a scholarship player does what he's supposed to do (goes to class, doesn't miss workouts and stays out of trouble) there's a 99% you're getting your scholorship renewed and if you have a career ending injury you'll get a medical hardship.

People forget that collegiate sports aren't supposed to be about the fans.

If you want your football team to focus on you and not the athletes there's a league for you. It's called the NFL.

I’m not sure this is very likely. Let’s look at the most common reasons for players transferring:
1. Young players who are looking to get on the field sooner
2. Older players who have been passed up on the depth chart by younger talent
3. Players who feel they have been sleighted by their program in some way - either due to coaches leaving, suspensions, off the field issues, etc.
4. Players who are looking to play for a more talented team - either to boost draft stock, compete for championships, etc.

Sure, #4 happens. See D’Eriq King as a high profile example. But the vast majority of transfers are #1 and #2 - guys are just looking for playing time. If anything, the data we have so far indicates that immediate transfer eligibility would increase parity in college football by making it tougher for top programs to stockpile talent.

That’s bad for teams like UGA, LSU, and Bama. But it’s good for everyone else. In a world where scholarships are not guaranteed and recruiting promises can be broken at any time, I’m not convinced immediate eligibility is a bad thing.

There are only two glaring issues I have with it: First, I can see it leading to more “diva moments” from players, especially as it relates to disciplinary actions. While they are technically adults, they are not necessarily mature and I think tough love is important sometimes.

Second, I worry about internal information getting out if transfers become the norm with no restrictions on destination.

They better be focused on the fans and donors eventually because there the ones footing the bill for these guys.Unless you just wanna have the students and the state governments pay for all the multi million dollar facilities, training and the very best coaches.

It would end up being an Ivy League product and probably draw about 20k per game with the games broadcasted on GPTV
