I was waiting for the knee brace to pop off like Forrest Gump when he was running.

Imagine the GIF's we would have had that happen

May be true but how many of those mistakes were due to the defense they were playing. Aranda isn’t some chump
The main problem i saw was Tua overthrowing shorter passes. Which he was not doing earlier in the season, until after Arkansas. And i think that's a problem with his knee not being 100%.

Exactly this. The ball is sailing on him some, which would be a direct cause of not being planted correctly because of discomfort with that knee.

Mark May took Kentucky to beat Georgia straight up. He needs to find a new profession.

This is the kind of shite that brings forth the hatred

Just looked up Mark May on wikipedia because I haven’t heard that dude’s name in a while. Sheesh

In January 1979, as a sophomore at Pitt, May was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, inciting a riot, and making terroristic threats. May reportedly was jumping on top of parked cars, threatening police officers and encouraging a crowd of onlookers to fight the officers.[16][17] He was found guilty of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, while the other charges were dismissed.[18] As a member of the Redskins, May was twice arrested for DUI. The second instance occurred in March 1990, and the first in 1985 in Arlington, Virginia.

I think he and Lou are doing some internet show this year

He's right. That definitely wasn't Bama's A game, on offense anyway.
You have to give LSU some credit for that, but Bama hurt themselves several times too. And, I'm not sure why it hasn't been pointed out more that Devonta Smith was playing with a gimpy hamstring, when he played, and Ruggs went out early. So, half the starting WR's didn't play for much of the game.

The offense seems prone to lapses of focus.
Hopefully it’s because of the youth and can be worked out.

Maybe LSU contributed SOME to them playing less than stellar. Just like, maybe Bama made their schedule look weak by being so much better than the rest.
Yes, Louisville is garbage this year. But Bama and Clemson combining for 150 points against them doesn't exactly help their stats. :)

Great cornerback and safety play will make a great quarterback look pedestrian
When you mug receivers the hole route, it does present it challenges for qb's.

In their defense they're still young and I'd have a hard time focusing 100% of the time too when you're up 100 points and you think you can score on any play.

I’d give the crowd more credit than Aranda. Penalties and busted plays were a bigger part of our mistakes than LSU just blowing us up with schematic advantages.
For example, sending the house on 3rd and 14 and having a tight end screen go for a first down is on Dave Aranda. He sat back when he should’ve blitzed and blitzed when he should’ve sat back. I thought he got too cute with trying to disguise his blitzes as well. Having your backers show blitz and then bail doesn’t work well against RPOs because they are out of position to defend it when the ball is snapped. LSU did that all night and Tua just threw the ball right into that vacated window. We stumbled in the red zone in the first half, but Alabama was marching up and down the field with little resistance long before the defense could blame fatigue. The guy is the savior so LSU fans have given him immunity when it comes to any sort of blame, but Mike Locksley took Dave Aranda to school and we ran the same shite we’ve run all year. When the lights came on he got entirely too cute. That isn’t unique to Aranda. Brilliant playcallers often get too caught up in showing their brilliance instead of just calling the right play relative to the situation.

And LSU brought our A game?

Posted on 11/6/18 at 11:25 am to labamafan
Exactly. May would never admit that.

I think it was as good a game as we could play in Tiger stadium that night. I've been to a lot of Bama games there and it's always intimidating. Our offense wasn't quite ready for the noise or Tua probably scores on that first possession. That's what the offsides penalties were about and how he got hit in the nuts.
Interesting that our defense had it's best game of the year. But, if you think about it they are on the field when you guys are the quietest. They can communicate better on the road. I swear that's been a constant since Saban's been in T-town. Our defense always plays better on the road.

Stadium was extremely loud, I would expect a little bit of sloppiness on account of communication issues. Other than that, LSU played pretty good defense and the secondary did a good job. Probably the best Tua has seen.
