Not one dime of student money outside of the small amount they pay for subsidized tickets goes to the athletic department. Without season ticket holders there’s no team. You think LSU is going to sacrifice those dues and ticket costs so more students can go? They need every dollar they can so unless the students are going to be paying the full price they aren’t getting more than the bare minimum LSU thinks they can get away with giving them and not causing a noticeable uproar.
