Marcus was a good running back but he's not a LF. Lattimore couldn't take a hit without loosing conciousness or tearing something. His body is frail.

Dude, nobody gets through these two things unscathed.

Hooked on phonics aside, Lattimore got knocked out twice and tore ligaments in both knees. It happens, just more to Lattimore.

The NFL has a term for this it's called injury prone.

He got knocked out as a freshman in 2010 against FSU in the bowl game. Name the 2nd time....

And that was a broken jaw. These are all pretty serious injuries and this guy acts like he taps out over an ankle sprain.

No one is actually thankful for bad things that happen to them. It's just part of the acceptance phase when suffering with greif.

Marcus Lattimore: "I'm thankful for those knee injuries"

Yes, actually people can be thankful for certain trials that open up new perspective. Blessings can come from these type of situations and he recognizes that. He's found a new life that he is happier than ever before with. Good for him.

And personally speaking.. yes.. people can be thankful for certain bad situations that eventually lead them to a new, greater destination in life.. This isn't like he lost a person or anything too tragic.. He gained self healing through this and found true happiness..

quote:

"Life is a little bit more enjoyable now because of what I've been through," Lattimore said. "... I wouldn't change a thing that happened -- put those knee injuries back in my life. I'm such a better person, overall. I'm wiser and I'm grateful for every single day that I get out of bed and I can walk, and I can run if I want to. The little things, they matter a little bit more than they did in the past."

This is the absolute truth. Sure, he would be happy to be in the NFL I would imagine.. however, this guy is absolutely beaming of happiness now.

quote:

"I'm thankful for those knee injuries," he said. "They really saved me and now I feel like I can do anything"

It's true.. He made it through these really devastating injuries.. but it may have saved him from other potential harming injuries or lead him down another path.

quote:

"It's fun being able to go to a city and see your work and feel the pride in what you do," he said. "I can tell you I've never had that feeling on the football field."

quote:

There are outreach programs to help the needy during the holidays, and Lattimore estimates his foundation has helped more than 3,000 student-athletes.

So great to live to serve others and have a positive impact on people. This is really a wonderful article

quote:

"There's always light on the other side of the tunnel," he said. "I'm living proof of it."

He's not faking this bro. And he's not suffering with grief dummy.

I'd have to reread it but I think it said that his organization also helps injured high school athletes by paying for some of their medical expenses.

Some people have nailed it. Marcus doesn't view this as "oh no I won't have as much money as I would've had," which to be fair would be most of our mindsets. He recognizes that his love for the game can be used as a tool for change and is going after it.

But Lattimore stays connected to football. He just recently took a job as assistant coach for Heathwood Hall's varsity football team in Columbia. It's welcome news after the NCAA ruled he wouldn't be allowed to serve as an assistant coach at South Carolina because his foundation gave the Gamecocks an unfair recruiting advantage.

fricking NCAA. Unless he would be using that foundation to pay players under the table, how would that be giving USCe an unfair advantage?

Lattimore was one of the best RB's I've ever seen at getting consistent yardage out of nothing.

I always liked him even way before the injuries living here in SC. I honestly teared up at the game in Columbia when he got horribly injured, I've never felt those type of emotions for a non-TN player before.

Really glad he handled a really hard situation way better than 99% of America would have.

Absolutely agree that this was a stupid decision by the NCAA. But Lattimore's willingness to forego a career in coaching (he could have shut down his foundation to clear his path to college coaching) where he would have made millions of dollars in order to work with his foundation and help young people only makes me respect him more.

Lattimore has experienced more success than Fournette has so far. He won his division and had back-to-back 11 win seasons with top ten finishes. The highlight of Fournette's career is a Texas Bowl victory.

No shite. The constant blow jobs of LF are tired to me. What the frick has the kid done, racked up a lot of yards against shitty fricking defenses?

What did he have against Bama's D, you know, ones that are NFL caliber? Exactly. Sweaty balls. That's how many yards he had. Bird shite.

You think when he runs against NFL D's he's somehow gonna be amazing? This isn't fricking SYRACUSE.

LF is fricking terribly overrated. There I said it. Prove me wrong by running well on a good D. Until then, frick off with those boring arse Notre Dame and East Slippery Dick Community College padded stats.
