Even as Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel’s recent tweet about wanting to leave College Station is widely dissected, it’s only now becoming clear just how close he came to departing the school and town before the “Johnny Football” sensation ever occurred. A&M initially suspended Manziel for the 2012 season following his arrest in College Station’s Northgate bar district last summer, a source with knowledge of the situation told SportsDay. Manziel, entering his freshman season after sitting out the 2011 season as a redshirt, would have felt it was necessary to transfer if the suspension wasn’t overturned on appeal, according to the source.

Not too surprising. He almost wasn't our starter last year.

Just please please please walk one day in his shoes.

My dad nearly pulled-out.
The world would be better off if he and JFF had followed through.

And this matters how?

Unbelievable. That's earth shattering.

Suspended the whole season for an arrest? Damn. Sumlin runs a tight ship.

I care about this about as much I cared about his tweet.

It doesn't at all. It's crazy how the media can harp on one player over and over again.
Just let the guy do his thing in the off season.
I did like the segment on SportsCenter the other day that showed him in San Diego with the QB coach practicing on the beach in the sand.

I'm a bit embarassed by my language here, but don't know any other way to say it.
For frick's sake, what the frick is wrong with you? He was suspended and 3rd string at the time he contemplated transferring. That's a surprise how, exactly? The only surprise here is the article was written by Kate Hairopoulos, who normally writes honest articles as opposed to this horse shite. I guess she's gotta sell papers.
