He almost had a brain aneurism when Shane Gillis rightly insinuated the obvious that Bama has payed players for eons. He wouldn’t last a month.

Was the SEC great? It was mostly Alabama for a little over a decade until Georgia had a little run. The rest of the league was mediocre. Now that everyone can pay athletes, the field is level.

In the 21st century there hasn’t been a conference close to the sustained success the SEC has had. The Big 10 is second and it’s a distant second.

Ohio State is the 2nd best program of the 21st century after Bama and if you omit Ohio States success than the Big10 is pretty much a joke. Even with Bama’s dominance if you omit their accomplishments; 4 other SEC programs have won national titles. With Georgia, Florida, and LSU combining for more titles than any other conference in the country.
