Ole miss gets in if they beat UK.
Bama gets in if they beat vandy.
Bama gets in if they beat vandy.

What OOC losses kept you out this year? Oh wait, it was all conference losses
This isn't just about Alabama, g00ber. The SEC is the toughest grind in all of college football. LSU, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, and Georgia have five of the Top 10 most talented rosters in college football. Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Auburn all have Top 15 rosters. We are from top to bottom the most talented conference in all America.
Say LSU plays Ohio State to start the season, loses a close one at a neutral site, then goes on to drop two games in conference play over the course of the season, and are one of the first two out. Meanwhile, say North Carolina goes 11-2 in a similar manner that SMU did this year and they make it into the playoffs over 9-3 LSU. Do you think it right and just given the disparity in strength of schedule?

Why did these 3 schools get left out? They kept losing games! Crappy LSU beat 2 of them. Alabama got blown out by Oklahoma, who themselves got blown out by a reeling LSU team.

The Big Ten got four in. Can you tell me with a straight face that Indiana deserves to be in with the schedule they played? They got blown out by the only team worth a damn that they played and sat back getting healthy, waiting to see where they were going to be seeded. And then Penn State has a gift of a path to the semi-finals despite losing to the only good teams they played.
Ole Miss and Mizzou had easier schedules and the opportunity to take a bid but they didn’t do it. SEC’s best teams lost to bad teams this year, nobody to blame but themselves.

SOS is important but that’s not the reason those teams didn’t get in. They have too many bad losses to mediocre teams.
Just because you’re a big traditional brand doesn’t mean your football team is good

Mizzou had a very weak schedule. If we had managed to make a stop at SCAR on the last drive, we would’ve potentially been a two loss SEC team. I guarantee we would’ve been left out.
The margin for SEC teams is artificially small.
You just validated exactly what I wrote

That means somebody gets a bye in the playoff. I say 16 and NO BYES. The field will shake out in the first round and the pretenders get sent home.

Some of you people are just dense I guess.

What a prima-donna
nearly shutout by Oklahoma
lost against Tennessee,
humiliated by Vandy
didn't make conference final
you're season was trending down with 3 losses in last 8
and the nation was tired of the same team getting the nod
Enjoy your big bowl of cry baby soup like everyone else has had to do.

But, this is a massive disappointment to our league. We are supposed to be the big bad SEC, now we are not. This will hurt recruiting, it will hurt everything.

The melt is even more glorious than expected.
Keep up the great work!!

They just established that SOS is not important.
No, not playing in your conference championship game while having 3 losses does though.

We got three teams in. That’s not a blow. The conference had its worst year in a long time. We’ll bounce back.
Are you crazy. We have 7 teams at 9-3 or greater. Top to bottom the SEC is the strongest conference and it’s not close.
If you put Bama, OM or USC I. They would all be favored in the 1st round. As it stands now SMU, IU and Clemson will not be favored, it’s comical that people here cheer the SEC not getting 4 teams in. Hate Bama all you want buts in our best interest to have the strongest conference and this weakened us. That’s not good for all members.

And now the talk turns to bowl selection for teams not in the playoff.
Do we really need bowl games anymore? Most schools lose money on them, fans don't travel to them like they used to, a quarter of a given team's players are likely to opt out, and the ones left could just as well be in the portal and shopping their services.
Bowls are pointless.

So now, the losers that have been crying nonstop about 12 teams being too many teams making the playoffs now want to expand it to 16 teams because they didn't get their way.
You really can't make this shite up folks.

But that’s not accurate. OU has the number four SOS in the country. Vandy has the number eight SOS in the country. You switch their schedules with what Texas had and both of these teams have better records.
That’s why SOS has to mean something. You can’t just go by wins and losses. That’s why the NCAA basketball tournament changed how things were ranked (NET) because people were getting in that didn’t deserve it and great teams that played hard schedules were left out.
If you’re going by Wins only, we will get screwed being in this league. Period.

Always being a count, eh Aubie? So get your fricking hate on for Bama and choke on it. You want to be rid of those feeling for Bama, come with game a beat Bama on a regular basis. No game, then roll your fricking toilet paper trees when you beat Mercer and Slippery Rock.

It just shows there’s no benefit to playing in the best conference. We should just crown our champion the national champion.
