Good point. Maybe hoping they can finagle a TV deal or something?

Yea I'm interested to hear more about it. I'm guessing without looking at the schedule that they have a few ACC buy games, but that wouldn't cover the whole league.
Maybe - like you said - they are gambling that playing this year will give them more attention and a lot of their ESPN+ games get bumped up to ESPNU and ESPN2. Certainly possible.
Plus, it's back to being basically an all Southern league - so their road trips are mostly busable, especially intra division games.

Also I wonder what their roster numbers look like. Could see them be a landing place for players in limbo from other conferences that have canceled.
Sun Belt the newest P5 conference?

Some dumbass spilled hot coffee in her lap. She sued McDonald's because it was "too hot". She won almost $3M.
This gets brought up a lot but there is actually way more to that story, this is just a brief breakdown
quote:
Liebeck acknowledged that the spill was her fault. What she took issue with was that the coffee was so ridiculously hot — at up to 190 degrees Fahrenheit, near boiling point — that it caused third-degree burns on her legs and genitals, nearly killing her and requiring extensive surgery to treat.
McDonald’s apparently knew that this was unsafe. In the decade before Liebeck’s spill, McDonald’s had received 700 reports of people burning themselves. McDonald’s admitted that its coffee was a hazard at such high temperatures. But it continued the practice, enforced by official McDonald’s policy, of heating up its coffee to near-boiling point. (McDonald’s claimed customers wanted the coffee this hot.)
Liebeck didn’t want to go to court. She just wanted McDonald’s to pay her medical expenses, estimated at $20,000. McDonald’s only offered $800, leading her to file a lawsuit in 1994.

In some ways players may be safer than at home and out and about but A contact sport like football will subject you to more risk than a typical classroom

would guess for the MAC and MWC, it has more to do with money and they’re just trying not to admit that. Once the money games were gone, all those conferences were dead in the water.
Really? The MWC would be dead in the water without buy games? Man, I just can’t get over this ignorant attitude.... if you ain’t us you can’t even afford to field a team. Curious, would you know, what is the percent loss in revenue for MWC teams losing buy games? Must include those list where they are paid and also those lost as the payee. I suspect you don’t care... as long as you can lick up your own bullshite.

How is it safe for students to be on campus and tested once at the beginning of a Semester than student athletes being tested at least weekly
It isn't. We've already seen it spread like wildfire after parties.
You want to get serious about making college campuses safer? Ban all visitors from frat and sorority houses, under threat of suspension or expulsion. Those will be the main culprits if there is an outbreak.

Here you go.
Kent State isn't MWC, but it's the same principle. They were going to be paid over $5,000,000 for going to Penn State, Kentucky, and Alabama. Their total athletic expenses in 2019 were $29.5 million.
One sixth of their total operating budget. Dead in the water? Maybe not. But it's a damn huge loss. Anyone who has been following college football for longer than 30 minutes knows how bad the Group of Five teams needs those games.

Kent State? You serious? Kent State is barely top 15 in attendance AT THE FCS LEVEL. I get it, who could bother with all those numbers.... Kent State can stand in for them all.

Ever since Boise briefly joined the Big East during 2011-2013’s realignment hurricane (right before the Big East fell apart, leading to Boise never playing there), the Broncos have enjoyed special TV privileges in the Mountain West. The league has sold Boise home games as a separate package, leading to Boise making $1.8 million a year plus a regular MWC TV share. In total, Boise’s been making about $2.9 million a year, while its peers have been making $1.1 million.

The people who want to shut down college football ignore the other interactions that spread the virus. Grocery shopping, mall shopping, restaurants and all other commerce bring people together in far greater numbers and much more frequently than does football.
Why are they just picking on college football? Why aren’t they calling for a lockdown? I’m thinking they know they’ll get figuratively tarred and feathered.
