If you go through at night, go to Nicks in the Sticks.

Archibald's is probably your best bet for lunch.

It’s a cool spot right next to the stadium with a ton of memorabilia inside. Been there forever.

A steak and a Nicodemus sounds pretty good right now.

imagine being so ate up with a football team that you feel compelled to come in just to trash a city.

typical vol fan to be afraid of a small college town.

What I said had nothing to do with football. It has to do with real life experience and what I know to be true. I live less than 2 hours away from that shite hole and can speak very knowledgeable on what goes on in Tuscaloosa. Tuscaloosa is one of the worse places to live in the entire state of Alabama and it one of the most crime ridden city’s in the state. Now tell me what that has to do with football. Tuscaloosa is a place I have been to many times for multiple reasons. But even knowing my way around a little bit I still do not go away from campus after dark. Once you get away from Campus it starts to get sketchy in many areas of Tuscaloosa. You know this to if you live anywhere near it, but your to eat up with fandom to admit Tuscaloosa is a bad place to live.

I guess if you’re just wondering around past 15th street this is true. Otherwise you’re full of shite

This used to be true south of the stadium. The tornado destroyed so much that many of the places built back are nice and well kept. Every community has "hood" elements. But Tuscaloosa has really upped their game

Let’s talk about facts about Tuscaloosa and surrounding area.
-15.2% of Tuscaloosa families live in poverty.

-With a crime rate of 44 per one thousand residents, Tuscaloosa has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 23.

-Drugs

-Birmingham to Tuscaloosa- less than an hour away. Tuscaloosa is starting to become an expansion of Birmingham with all the crime spilling over into Tuscaloosa County.

- 15 arrested for Human trafficking January 20 2023

- Former Bama Sprinter (Trafficking Cocaine)

These are the last 2 most recent trafficking of drugs and humans in the last 2 months. I can keep going if you still need more of a reminder of how much a shite hole Tuscaloosa is.

Are you trying to say that Knoxville, Nashville, Baton Rouge, Gainesville, et. al., don't have poverty, crime, drugs, and human trafficking stats?

You're on a hyper obsessed speed-run, eh?

What you -don't- know because you don't live here is that our cops are hyper vigilant and always have been. Our arrests are higher "per capita" because they don't let shite slide, fam.

Every real city has drugs..... we have one of the premier universities in the country...

B'ham crime is most certainly not a part of our problem except that Tuscaloosa county is the 7th largest in the state so.. yeah. maybe in the north/eastern parts of the edge of the county, some families are back and forth between bham? idk.

Our OP guy is going to be in tuscaloosa proper in the city. He's not going to a remote sketchy area.

And 21.3% of Knoxville residents live in poverty. Maybe you should clean up your own backyard before you start throwing stones.

And it's but you're too eat up. DA

Besides, the mountain commonly associated with the song, "Rocky Top," is covered with meth houses, stolen cars, and dog-fighting. Every place has its ugly side

not to mention that while poverty is correlated with higher crime rates, like.. the whole arse south has lots of impoverished areas. this isn't exactly new. he keeps skirting the idea that the OP was just asking for lunch in the city of tuscaloosa. which is nice.

15.2% of Tuscaloosa families live in poverty.

Alabama Families Poverty rate for the entire state of Alabama is 16.2% by the same metrics used for Tuscaloosa.

-Median income for Alabama single
$27,030 from 2020 census
-Median income for Tuscaloosa single
$21,463 from 2020 census

-Tuscaloosa's housing expenses are 24% lower than the national average and the utility prices are 7% higher than the national average. Transportation expenses like bus fares and gas prices are 6% higher than the national average. Tuscaloosa has grocery prices that are 4% higher than the national average.
No one wants to live their reason why the house prices are so much lower. Can’t sell houses on par with national average so they just raise every thing for the people that’s already there.

-With a crime rate of 44 per one thousand residents, Tuscaloosa has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 23.

-The crime rate in Alabama is 21.4, and the national average is 19, while 16 percent of Alabama's population is under the poverty line. Searching for a safe place to live is essential, and sadly, Alabama does have a high violent crime rate of 5.20 per 1,000.

- Tuscaloosa, AL, New York, NY USA
Violent Crime 29.9 28.2 22.7
Property Crime 59.7 24.9 35.4

These are the latest stats comparing Tuscaloosa to New York City and the entire country. As you see Tuscaloosa alone has a far higher crime than the rest of the country.

No. I am just stating Tuscaloosa is worse than all these cities you named, except maybe Baton Rouge.
