Actually he states "numbers earlier reported by Billy L" not that he was the source. Journalists credit the first person to report a story as a professional courtesy. The way it is written he clearly had secondary collaboration of the story.
That said it doesn't matter really, he stayed at A&M.
I have no doubt though that had Jimbo taken the LSU job that Tiger fans would feel very differently about him and would certainly be loving that you stole our coach.
I mean you guys are acting like hiring Kelly, who hasn't even really won a big game much less a NC and has been embarrassed every time he used the ND brand to get in the Playoffs as if he is the second coming and dismissed all of his many faults. It's what fans do. Kelly is in his honeymoon right now before he plays a game and everyone is drinking kool aid, let's see how things go after some adversity or even after this recruiting class is in the books.

I think that was Dennis Dodd and Pete Thamel saying it was $15M/year. Not sure about McMurphy.

Most people would not give a frick about this. I don't give a shite that multiple people turned down Alabama back in 2007. And not just because we ended up with Saban. That's the way shite goes, if someone turns it down, on to the next guy.
But not LSU fans. Because as I said, you guys turn EVERYTHING into a pissing contest. You guys have bashed Jimbo and A&M for years. And now, after all that time, it's turned out that your AD not only wanted Jimbo, but you got turned down.

There are a few level headed LSU fans around here(not you), but for the most part everything I'm saying is 100% truth.

Jimbo did get a big raise and contract extension back in August when he and Woody first started talking.

They certainly changed their tune about Kelly and ND football. Two weeks ago he sucked and they would be mid pack in the SEC.
