Wasn't mentioned in the official memo, but how do you know it didn't come up in the "number of conversations" Byrne had with the league office?

Or do you think that wasn't mentioned in off the record conversations?

yall are truly insane. Bama was always getting the 3:30 time slot this week so they have literally nothing to do with this. The team on the opposite end of hte spectrum here is us since we got the night slot instead of noon.

Vandy/Ole Miss is in the 6:30 SEC Network slot, that's where LSU would have normally been this weekend

The drawback of being a good team. LSU only plays so many night games because they've agreed to appear on ESPNU. LSU is hot right now so the tv execs going to want them on the main networks.

That's bogus. The SEC Network will always take the low end conference game for their primetime kick. This is the week LSU would have appeared on ESPNU or the SEC alternative channel (from looking at previous years), but ESPN deemed that LSU is too hot of a commodity to put on that network.

If LSU was playing anyone decent instead of a non-conference patsy, they would have been playing in prime time.

First of all, , and secondly, you’re exactly right. But there’s no getting through to the mob over on TR. The melting is just embarrassing.

Did a journalist point it out? Absolutely.

You think Cecil Hurt was the only one to point this out to the league office?

Bama bitches about having to play an inequitable schedule with the day games, then by total coincidence LSU's next home game is picked up for the 11 am slot making it the first non conference day game in 11 years? Yeah you can't convince me this wasn't done to placate Bama's whining.

I believe there are some other quotes that are more specific but even the use of 2014 is not arbitrary and is specific to point us out. 2014 is where there was an agreement reached by us and the conference under mike slive to honor our tradition of night games

That's not what happened last week, there is plenty of subjectivity to the process

“We are disappointed that our game against Southern Miss has been selected as a daytime kickoff at home,” Byrne said in a statement. “We realize we’ve played more non-conference day games at home in September than LSU since 2014. There have been a number of conversations with our conference office, and they also recognize the challenges these kick times present for our student-athletes and fans.”

Utah State was a top 25 team last year and is honestly better than several SEC teams.

Look, bama made a huge investment in LED lights. They need to use them.
We still won't use them this weekend.

When does the drinking start for LSU fans @ 11:00 kickoffs?

In CBS's College football poll Utah St. is ranked 36. So #4 vs #36.

That's 37 spots higher than bama's best opponent so far.

Sadly, this will be the best team they've faced statistically.

I'm assuming it's supposed to be hotter than 80 that day then.

I'm referring to agreement between LSU and Mike Slive. Go look how many times LSU has kicked off at night on ESPNU. At least once a year since 2014, with some years having multiple games. I think Alabama has been on ESPNU once in Saban's tenure. Typically you don't want to be on ESPNU, but LSU conceded to be on the network to get more night games. But LSU is one of the hottest teams in the nation right now, so ESPN wants them on a big boy network. Hence an 11am kick off for their cupcake game.

The schedule was an abnormality last weekend due to CBS having two games.

A&M and LSU also have bye weeks before their respective games.
