LSU has won the last 18 games they've played.
The last time Tulane won the game was 1982.
After their last loss in 2009 (42-0) Tulane administrators told LSU that the game was no longer beneficial for their side and the series was put on pause.

LSU would want to play the game in Tiger Stadium every year, especially now that we lose a home game every other year.
Even if we lived in a world where LSU actually wanted this game and were willing to settle for home and home (which we never would) we would want to play them in the Dome when we go to Nola and split the revenue. Tulane would want to play it in their Mickey Mouse stadium.
It won’t ever happen. Which is a shame, but there’s plenty of other runts in the state.

Since 1950, LSU is 45-4 against Tulane. Tulane’s last victory over LSU was 1982. LSU has won 18 straight since 1982.

LSU is living the nightmare.
Every one of their "rivals" is in the playoffs.
Their only real rival, Ole Miss.
Their other main rival, aTm.
Their old in state rival, Tulane.
And even the rival that ignores them and doesn't give them rivalry status as they begged for it for the past 20 years, Alabama.
Poor LSU.

Nah, they just have to win their conference. Losing 45-10 to ole miss didn’t matter this year. And in the years that they beat LSU it would be a huge boost

Losing 45-10 to Old Mrs combined with another blowout to LSU would absolutely torpedo their chances. Tulane is a layup game for you today. You guys deserve it after everything that’s happened the last few weeks. I’ve still not seen a single rebel thank LSU for loaning you our coaches though. This is the reason the series was originally paused.
Tulane was playing in the Dome at the time and wanted to split the gate there, when LSU provided the vast majority of the gate. Bertman said no.
