The scuttlebutt is that he was somehow enrolled in the wrong summer school class and, since it wasn't the one he needed, he did not meet the requirements to be eligible.
Sounds hard to believe but with our clown car operation, it's probably true.

John Emory is a POS anyway. Derrius Guice likely ruined any second chance that Emory might have been given.

Well when things start leaking from inside the LSU AD department, as the case with most programs, that is a signal that Top Administration has had enough and any goodwill the higher ups have to go to bat for you have run out. Not going to repeat all the off the field fubars but LSU Admin has told Ed about them for what I pick up here and there.

All your players still have to go through NCAA clearinghouse to remain eligible
The course he took was the wrong course and therefore he is ineligible
Jontre Kirklin who has been here 5 years is also academically ineligible for some reason - he's been fine and is a 5th year senior but somehow having academic issues
