he was somehow enrolled in the wrong summer school class and, since it wasn't the one he needed, he did not meet the requirements to be eligible.

Holy shite.

Does LSU not have a couple people on staff who's only job is to make sure football players are taking the right classes and telling them what grades they need? Just like every other college football team in the country. Hell the Mississippi CC on Last Chance U has that lady

Every player (and student for that matter) has an academic counselor who advises on what courses are required, etc. I don't know if there is a level above specific to the football team or athletic department at LSU to double-check the counselor.

People on the rant actually think this is what the Head Coach does.

I'd bet my house there is. Like I said, every college football team has one. I would think there are multiple ones for any power 5 program.

Someone isn't doing their job if that's true that he didn't take all of his required classes. Even if he just fails the class on his own, they have to at least get him enrolled in the correct courses. That's inexcusable.

ineligible, not injured. What's going on?

The comments indicated it was academic.

Woodward with another frick up to add to the list

Absolutely inexcusable

it's inexcusable, but why is Woodward the one you're blaming? It's not his job to monitor every athlete on campus to make sure they're making grades. That's the compliance department and coaches' jobs.

Exactly. I suspect they are walking a really straight line right now.

This happened to Jordan Wilkins at Ole Miss. He missed the 2016 season because he didn't have enough credits towards his degree or something like that. Pretty sure an advisor lost their job over it.

Small details like this happen at programs that are too busy dealing with other fires. Ole Miss was in year 6 of the NCAA investigations and of course, we know LSU is dealing with a shitstorm whether the fans admit it or not.

I don't completely disagree, but academic advisors shouldn't be affected by whatever the universty is dealing with. It's really easy to know what classes players (or any student) need to take. It's been over 15 years since I was in college, but even back then I could run a report that told me exactly what courses I needed to take. Someone dropped the ball big time
