Jesus, you Aggies are worse than the Pigs when it comes to blowing yourselves. I wish there was a return policy the SEC could exercise to send your asses back to the Big 12.

You know LSU's defense is designed to stop guys like him and he had 5 turnovers against us last year, right?

Saban is going to go nuts with that many no huddle offenses in the conference. THAT was the point.

Saban goes "nuts" about a lot of stuff, what's new?

Well, I'd like to see him do this one day.

To deny that A&M was statistically the best offense in SEC history isnt a matter of opinion, it's simply factually incorrect.

Yet you and your brethren are flaming one of the schools that shut down your "most prolific SEC offense evarrrrrr," made JFF look pedestrian (at best), and was able to beat you with what? A top 80 ranked offense?

You Aggies are cute.

Amen!

And to think, I was actually excited to have aTm join the conference. The horn fans tried to tell us how they were, I just refused to listen.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a fanbase boast and brag so much about a season that most LSU/Bama fans would consider a disappointment.

I know what you responded to. Just face it, LSU shut your boy down and will not be intimidated by him.

A&M will have a great offense... No idea about the defense, which will be way more talented, but far less experienced. And yes, Texas and LSU want to "get in" on the no-huddle thing, but they have spent the last few years attempting to copy Alabama in their schemes.

Just find an identity and stay with it. A&M will be a spread team as long as Sumlin is the coach. As will Auburn. Arkansas will run the ball until Hell freezes over with Bielema. MSU will do whatever it is they actually do... OM will run the spread because of Freeze.

LSU just needs to find some kind of offensive identity - they appear to be without one.

Texas will try and become as close to Oregon as they can, though they haven't run anything like that in years. It should be interesting to watch.

For the record I think Texas finishes behind OkSU, OU, BU, and possibly TCU next year. Then they will can Mack Brown, and attempt to hire Shaw from Stanford. Maybe Freeze - maybe Sumlin. I'm sure they will talk to Saban before he laughs at them.

LSU will finish behind Alabama again, and probably behind A&M simply because of a harder schedule. They will be better in 2014 after Mett leaves

I'm sure you weren't excited to improve from 7-6 to 12-2 between 2007 and 2008.

Another copycat...

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Gus Malzahn sort of the creator of the spread offense we see today?

ETA: And I am not talking from his days at Auburn, think he blew the doors wide open with his spread offense back during his Tulsa days.

The latest news is that UF will run the triple huddle offense 1/3 of the time....it confuses everyone and nobody has a clue whats going on.
Its all hush hush right now.

This doesn't register with them. I have seen written on this board ad nauseam that JFF, "...had an off game" in reference to LSU's defense making him run for his life after the 1st quarter.

The only reason they beat Bama was because they played LSU in a very emotional and tough game the week before and came out very sloppy and slow -- 5 more minutes of game-play that day and Bama would have had the W.

It isnt flaming to say this move is motivated by A&M nor that it has a good chance of failing.

LSU doesnt have the personel to run a true no-huddle style. Sure, they can hurry up to the line and run the power sweep or B-gap dive, but are they really gaining anything by doing that? It's obvious this is an attempt to actually run a no-huddle that threatens defenses, and not that garbage power run no-huddle they tried last year at times. This requires a completel re-working of the passing game to incorporate elements Les Miles and Cam Cameron have literally never utilized in their entire coaching careers. You can run an effective no huddle with dive plays and play action as your sole source of positive yardage.

We have one, it's to run the ball right at people.

This has been my stance on the 2013 season since the end of the Peach Bowl. However, the things that are coming out of spring practice are starting to make me think otherwise. I really like that this team will have to be focused on opening day. It will set the tone.

He is most definitely the one who brought the HUNH to the SEC. Not Sumlin.

Hal Mumme is the original creator of the spread offense. I think Leach took it to the next level. I think Malzahn and Holgerson are the younger generation to embrace it, though Sumlin has never run anything else.

It is interesting that Spurrier simply abandoned it when he went to South Carolina

Hence the new offensive coordinator brainiac...

I think its time for an Aggie joke, maybe I can borrow one from the Longhorn board

Not at all. The spread has its origins in the run 'n shoot popularized in high school from the 50s-80s and at the college level in the late 80s and early 90s. Joe Tiller and Mike Leach are the origin of the offense A&M runs, which involves wide line splits, a predominantly short passing game with lots of screens, drags and comebacks and utility backs who can catch the ball as well as they run it. A&M is the first team to run THAT type of spread with a mobile QB.
