LSU quickens the pace... So the better question is who WON'T be running some version of the spread next year? Alabama Arkansas UGA Any others?

So funny. Bama has run a variation of the spread since '08. We're in a spread formation more times than we aren't.

Duh..

And he'll be done after this year. And A&M will be below LSU and Bama with or without him.

:congrats:

So you're saying without our Heisman-winning QB who set nearly every tngible SEC offensive record, our offense wouldnt have been as good?

Maybe, maybe not. If he is, we have the #1 QB in Texas from 2011, the #1 and #2 QBs in Texas from 2012 and likely the #2 QB in Texas from 2013..all of whom are/will be ranked more highly out of HS than Manziel was.

Given Texas' incredible track record of producing D-1 and NFL QB talent, you shuldnt be so confident.

True, but nobody ever had the urge to copy an unranked 7-5 Kentucky team.

Yeah, I mean that must be why no one hired Tony Franklin after that.

A&M and Auburn lined up in the shotgun the majority of the time, and that's where the similarities end.

Nope. The hurry up and no huddle aspect are also the same and since this thread is about LSU quickening the pace of their offense(hint: it will also be different than the Air Raid and Power Spread) I stand by my original statement.

You're just another in a long line of college football fans who have the dumbed down "shotgun = spread = all the same" mindset. A&M ran an entirely different offense compred to 2010 Auburn, from the blocking schemes to the run/pass ratio to the construct of the passing game.

A&M is the first team to run the Hal Mumme/Mike Leach/Dana Holgerson style with the kind of talent A&M had last year. The closest second was 2008 Texas Tech and 2011 Oklahoma State.

OP didn't specify any of that.

He just said "no huddle" like everyone was copying off of A&M.

A&M is the first program to run this particular type of offense with elite level talent, and the results speak for themselves.

i have never seen a fanbase suck itself off so hard over a two loss season. top-notch work, guys.

Like he said, this is about LSU quickening the pace of the offense. The original post:

Looks like LSU, A&M, OM, Auburn will all be running a variation of the No-Huddle offense next year. That is REALLY going to piss of Saban Another copycat... College Football is definitely changing

Considering the seasons win line on us preseason was 7 wins and the general consensus on this forum was maybe 1 conference win....I'd say it was a success.

I never said they were copying A&M... said they are copying the rest of CFB. Always thought the SEC was like a mini-NFL, but and it is talent-wise but not as far as scheme goes.

Saban is going to go nuts with that many no huddle offenses in the conference. THAT was the point. I can name at LEAST two dozen teams that run a no-huddle offense now.

The issue here is A&M's 2012 offense, which set the all-time SEC records for total yardage, yards per game, points and had a Heisman-winning QB who set individual total yardage record.

So yes, the offensive results speak for themselves. To deny that A&M was statistically the best offense in SEC history isnt a matter of opinion, it's simply factually incorrect.
