Then every other legal injunction that is allowing players to play in the SEC should be void as well.

There's that typical "what about them???" defense from the corndogs.

It's all drama, sound bites and click bait.

There may be some favorable rulings in an Alabama courthouse, but the Appeals and Supremes will apply the law (including Constitutional) and put an end to this.

Remember who appointed a significant number of the Federal judges who reviewed this. Hell; we might even see an Executive Order that weighs in . . .

I don't think they will ever actually kick LSU out, but it would set a precedent that the legal courts do not supersede conference regulations. None of this is a legal matter. Crimes have not been committed. However, belonging to the SEC (or any conference, including the larger NCAA) comes with inside rules and regulations that every member team and participant agrees to abide by. LSU had to be threatened with expulsion before dropping their bid to roster ineligible players. To the bitter end LSU was throwing some local judge's order in the SEC's face. That's the long and short of it.

It's been stated about a million times. LSU was about to roster players who the SEC deemed ineligible. Those guys were actually on campus practicing. Yes, LSU backed down and no rules were violated, but it took a threat of expulsion to get LSU's attention.

Haven't you ever had to manage unruly employees before? Sometimes the best thing to do is let them go if they are consistently pushing the regs and being a general nuisance.

I'm sure that's the attitude you take when you get a speeding ticket. "Sorry, officer, this doesn't apply to me."

Legal rulings absolutely supersede conference regulations unless a higher court says otherwise.

That's why the SEC is headed for a 7 or 8 figure settlement in this Louisiana case. That's the real motivation right now by the plantiffs: get this case to discovery so they can force the SEC to cough up millions of dollars before their dirty laundry gets aired out for all to see.

As it stands, the SEC can kick members out. Is Sankey trying to get the power to do that himself without member votes?

But it falls flat and looks like lack of institutional control to the remaining 15 presidents and chancellors of the league. The same group that will decide LSU’s punishment if the SEC wins in court next month.

Really?

Because they had a meeting scheduled to kick LSU out a few weeks back. They were supposed to shite all over LSU and the day of we didn't even hear a queef.

Methinks maybe this is just about Sankey picking the case that involved potential recruits instead of multiple other cases involving SEC schools and he embarrassed himself in the 19th judicial.

The SEC should probably pick a leader who actually understands the NCAA rules that he's fighting against.

No they don't. Courts do not determine player eligibility. That is not a legal matter.

So in this day and age, with court orders flying around in the Wild West of college sports and other schools bringing in former pros, this is enough to kick us out? Because it took a threat to get us to comply? In a sport where the rules seem to change by the day? Come on.

Why didn't OM get threatened with expulsion for not dropping their bid to roster ineligible players? I will hang up and listen.
