This is a good/safe hire. He's a solid coach and brings years of experience.

It just doesn't feel like it has the same upside as when O took a risk in hiring a young, innovative guy like Joe Brady.

Yeah, because the SEC Rant gave Orgeron maddd props when he brought in Brady.

LSU has turned a lotttt of SEC fans into gaping vaginas.

Brady came from a system that worked really damn well in the NFL and transitioned easily to college.

Linehan, on the other hand:

Dallas finished the 2018 regular season ranked 22nd in both total offense (343.8 YPG) and scoring offense (21.2 PPG).

In those 16 seasons, his offenses ranked inside the top 10 in yardage eight times and the top 10 of scoring on six occasions, per Football Reference.

And they were the #1 offense in the NFL this past season without Lineham.

Fantastic hire, Oregon!

Details on #LSU's hiring of Scott Linehan: The veteran #NFL coach is getting a 2-yr deal worth about $800,000 a year, sources say.

His title is pass game coordinator (no position assignment). Mickey Joseph will continue handling WRs and Steve Ensminger will stay as OC/QBs coach.

Ed O says the RPO isn’t going anywhere. He wants to add a couple of variations hence the Linehan hire. E will still be the play caller but I expect Linehan to be help more of a defensive breakdown guy for E
