So? The average power 4 coaching tenure is 4 season with only 20% of coaches lasting 6+ season.
And in today's football you can win anywhere immediately, as Cig proved at Indiana. There's no longer a need for a coach to get 4 recruiting cycles to actually build a team with his guys.

Due to the portal, every coaching change results in mass defections through the portal. Every new coach has to rebuild the roster now days.
It hasn’t changed that it takes a couple of seasons to get the roster built. The change is that now it is not just high school recruits, but transfers too.

I agree that he was the best coach last season. I’m curious to see how he does at Indiana in the post-Mendoza era. If he can have the same level of success again this season, I think it will go a long way toward proving just how good of a coach he really is.

Programs need to cancel all future games with ND until they join a conference. It’s pathetic how they get so much special treatment. Guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.
