LSU is literally the only football program that could hire Cignetti away from Indiana. Agreed.

he wasnt leaving Indiana. i dont think we wanted to wait that long to pursue the guy anyway. if we would have waited for him to finish his season then we would have had to be certain he was coming.
our roster would be shite right now if we would have waited for that guy to finish his season . he would have had to bring a bunch of guys from Indiana with him or we would have ended up hurting badly at key positions. qe wouldnt have landed our qb ,he made his decision before the natty I beleive

LOL, Kiffin brought Ole Miss to the playoffs. No doubt he sucks.
The portal built Indiana. It wasn't like he walked in and had to build it the old school way. He's doing it the same way Cristobal is doing it. The portal can cover a lot of sins. Find a magical qb and you have a chance.

Take a look at Penn State’s Big Ten schedule. Take a look at Miami’s ACC schedule. Take a look at Texas Tech’s Big 12 schedule. Hell, Indiana’s schedule itself, outside of Ohio State, is extremely favorable. They’ve got Michigan and USC. Other than Ohio State, that’s it. Extremely manageable.
Notre Dame’s schedule (outside of Miami) is a joke, but they generally schedule somewhat competitively. Who knows if these games will still be played, but looking at future schedules for Notre Dame:

You don't think Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, etc. could get him away from Indiana?
Forget LSU, I think the bigger issue is he wouldn't have interest in coaching in the SEC or leaving the Big 10.
